Lovely place with really nice food! - Edit
We walked into this lunch cafe because it looked so nice, with lovely outdoor seating and it turned out to be totally veg/vegan! What a fantastic place!

Basic, but enjoyable - Edit
We went there for our friend Vicky's 70th birthday. She had the three-egg omelette; my partner had a halloumi ciabatta and I went for the pea-protein burger with sauté potatoes (posh chips). All very nice, but not exactly an adventurous menu.
Read moreThe beer purported to be an IPA, but it tasted more like an old-fasioned keg bitter. They would do well to consider stocking one of the new south Wales craft breweries, such as Tudor or Glamorgan.
We ate outside in the May sunshine, in a lovely setting. Then got drenched to the skin on the short walk home. That's the valleys for you.
Pros: Simple, tasty food, Excellent value, Beautiful setting
Cons: Rather unimaginative menu, Unremarkable beer

Great atmosphere and food (updated Apr2024) - Edit
Update: recently the number of vegan options has dramatically reduced. Down to essentially three options on the main menu and the brunch menu has NO vegan options! What was once a safe haven for vegan options in the Swansea valley café chameleon is now no longer what it once was (have added recent menu images to photos section).
Read moreVisited here many times both before and since becoming vegan. Has a great menu, lovely staff, and a great atmosphere. There's not many places in the valley where you can eat so this is a gem.

Awesome - Edit
A fabulous place to eat, and somewhere we make a point of visiting several times when in the area.
Read moreIt has a friendly and comfortable environment, making it hard to leave.
The food is just amazing, homemade and totally delicious. There are often 'specials' too which makes choosing what to eat a nice problem to have. Always worth asking if a vegetarian dish can be made vegan.
A great shame that I can't give it 5 out of 5 (serves vegetarian items) - the Chameleon deserves it!
I throughly recommend Cafe Chameleon. ❤️

Little Gem! - Edit
Didn’t expect to find an eatery such as this, in this location! There was only a small selection of food on the day we went but everything we ordered was delicious! Really great vibe, great (ska) music playing, and vegan food, what more could you want? 🥰

Best place in the village - Edit
This is a fab little cafe/restaurant, great decor and atmosphere. Has a lovely outside seating area. Since the reopening after lockdown it is now fully vegetarian /vegan/ gluten free. They no longer serve meat. Food is delicious and healthy. They don't serve chips here but do have amazing vegan cake and the best vegan ice cream in many flavours

Hidden Gem! - Edit
This cafe / bar is a total hidden gem, literally in the middle of nowhere. Over the Easter weekend we stayed at the old school just a short walk up the road and were taken back by how many options this place offers!
Read moreThere's cake, earth bowls, chilli, salads and a range of beers. Cafe by day, bar by night.
The only down side is this place doesn't open until 12 so you can't nip in for breakfast!

Five stars, you silly app. - Edit
Just because this is not a fully vegan/vegetarian place I can't give this five stars on this app.
Read moreWell, it deserves five. Lovely vibe, great staff and excellent food. Heaps of vegan/vegetarian options and they even double check with you if something isn't completely vegan or has allergy-type ingredients.
A nice selection of beers and ciders on tap too as well as a full bar. You can ask to sample the taps first - they offered before I had to ask!
An amazing gem to discover in the UK and really really reasonably priced. I wish this place many years of awesomeness, thank you for giving me a break food-wise through this trip. 11/10.
Pros: Lots of vegan/vegetarian options., Cheap!!!
Cons: None.

A little gem in the Swansea Valley! - Edit
A lovely, cosy and rustic cafe with great vegan and vegetarian options. Everything is freshly cooked so don't expect fast food! There is a bar with very good range of alcoholic and soft drinks and fab coffees.
Read moreI generally order a bowl of olives or hummus with crudites and a drink to nibble on while my meal is being prepared.
It has indoor and outdoor seating and a small car park.
Always a favourite with me and my friends 😀😀
