Lasagna was literally a scam / didn't have vegan options - Edit
I ordered lasagna and the piece was so small that I could have eaten three lasagnas. For that price, definitely not acceptable. Interior and vibe was nice though. Also, my girlfriend wanted to order a vegan option instead of me, who was ordering the vegetarian version as it's already difficult enough to get a sufficient and balanced amount of healthy nutritions in this part of the world, especially if you're traveling very alternatively, but they declined us two of their vegan dishes and the almond milk since they weren't available.😡I reckon it's usually not a bad place but we had just bad luck and other dishes might be larger.

Okra Curry - Great Experience - Edit
Cafe Campestre is apparently known for their curries. They had the option of half/half as one meal which I thought was a cool idea so I ordered the pumpkin curry and the okra curry. The pumpkin curry in my opinion wasn’t special but the okra curry was such a fun experience. The texture in a curry was super interesting and it felt like it melted in my mouth. The flavours also added to the enjoyment of the meal. Meal also came with complimentary popcorn. As for the space, definitely a good spot if needed to do any online work, felt very comfortable to be in.

Nice cafe with some options - Edit
We only popped in for a coffee really but we have heard good things about the food from people we've met - especially the curry. We had the fruit bowl which was nice, the hibiscus juice which was very good. Only had a filter coffee as there was a power cut at the time but that was decent enough. They also sell their own products, we picked up a hot sauce (c$120) which was vegan. Also had peanut butter, tahini, pineapple chutney (all c$150) and some other non vegan. All reasonably priced really for what they are really. A nice courtyard bit out the back.

Great food and drink options - Edit
We came here 3 times for lunch/dinner during our few days in Balgüe as they have really decent vegan options and it is a nice place to sit and chill for a couple of hours. We tried the Bhindi Bhaji curry, the jackfruit burger, and the falafel plate. Best thing for us was probably the Bhindi Bhaji curry, it was a decent size portion and the flavours were great. We also tried one of their smoothies which was basically a ice cream in a cup - so delicious!!They accepted card payment which is an added bonus, and they serve the food really quickly. Would definitely recommend.

nice place - Edit
went multiple times the first the food was really good and it was quick as it was really quiet, but it can get really busy in the evenings and my food was cold and they had mixed up what burgers we had ordered. but it’s a nice place with a range of options, a little expensive and you have to grab your own menu and go up to order usually otherwise you’ll wait a long time.

Came here twice, the lemonade is very refreshing and the falafel plate and the roasted veg sandwich are both very tasty!

Plenty of vegan options - Edit
I tried a few things here, falafel, jackfruit burger and 2 different curries. The curries are the specialty here and it was the clear winner, the falafel was good, the burger was too salty for my liking, like really salty!

Vegan options for all the meals - Edit
Cafe campestre has vegan options all day, for breakfast I had the vegan burrito and many smoothies. There's a smoothie with toasted corn, coffee, cacao, and bananas and it is so dang good. Lunch and dinner there's vegan curries and a jackfruit burger and falafel plate. I enjoyed everything I had here, the team is really friendly, there's always a good playlist playing, there's free wifi so you can sit and work for a bit if needed, and they accept card payments which is invaluable on the island.

Lovely fresh food - Edit
I ate here a few times and could always order something different! They had curries, a sandwich, burrito and some lighter meals to choose from. Their smoothies are also all vegan! Service is quick and friendly, and price is very reasonable. Also this app says cash only but you can now pay by card with a 300c minimum.

Literally went here 5 times - Edit
I have tried every vegan option on here as well as a bite of the dhal (has ghee) and all are outstanding! I recommend coming here very hungry, getting 2 taster portions, a rice and a chipati. Vegan options are banana tamarind curry, Aubergine curry, a dhal, and a pumpkin curry.

really good & fresh food - Edit
We been here 4 times. Not disappointment at all!!! Best place in Nica! Really good food, heaps vegetarian options and I found 5-6 vegan options too. Good atmosphere & not pricey at all! Avocado smoothie is so refreshing and it’s like a dessert ( no sugar added, so not too sweet, but you can ad sugar syrup yourself if needed) - I just loved to start every morning with it while in island!!!

Great surprise! - Edit
One of the best food I tried in Nicaragua was in this cafe. The vegan smoothie was so rich, creamy and flavorful. The veggies and fruits used in the dishes tasted very fresh, I think it's from their garden. And it was reasonably priced!

Fresh, Local and Organic - Edit
The best food on Ometepe! We had there garden salad and a vegan curry. Both were made from ingredients from their own farm! The salad was feah and full of interesting leaves and lots of fresh veg and the curry was the most authentic I've ever eaten, chock pea and potatoe with fresh coriander. We also had some great smoothies and later we went back for their local fresh coffee. Cafe Campestre is a must stop when on Ometepe.
