Vegan Chili - Edit
I used to eat at Cafe Brazil a lot when I was in college at SMU. I wasn't vegan then, but I was in Dallas to visit family and I had to check it out after many years.
Read moreNot much has changed and I love that they have vegan options.
The vibe in the restaurant is so good. I love that they support local artists and you can buy art off the walls.
There is a bottomless coffee bar and you can buy bags of coffee to take home as well.
I got the bottomless coffee and tried a jalapeno flavor that was really tasty. I really tasted the jalapeno after the coffee flavor and I found it to be really nice and not very spicy.
I ordered the vegan chili because it looks like the only truly vegan options right now are the chili or the vegan burger. There are a lot of vegetarian options that include egg and they don't have a vegan egg replacement.
I used to get the veggie migas when I was in school because I loved the vegetables. I wish they had a vegan version.
The chili was really good. It was full of beans and had a little kick. Just the right amount of spice for me. It comes with a side of Texas toast (no butter).
I also ordered the rosemary potatoes and asked for no butter on them. They told me they use oil on them and not butter, but they would double check with the kitchen.
The portion was giant and I am so stuffed I don't think I'll need to eat again today.
I highly recommend eating here (or any of the other locations). It's a Dallas chain and I wish it was all over Texas.
Pros: Multiple vegan options , Multiple vegan options , Unlimited coffee
Cons: No vegan egg substitute , No vegan cheese substitute

Black bean burger - Edit
The Southwest black bean burger, with sweet potato fries, was tasty and filling. I am surprised CB doesn’t have more vegan options, but happy they have this!

Cons: Didn’t see vegan options on the breakfast menu.

Really good - Edit
Very casual diner restaurant. There's lots of veggie options and a couple of vegan options. I got the southwest vegan burger. It's topped with tomatoes, lettuce, onions and poblanos and comes with sweet potato fries. It was a tiny bit bland but just add some hot sauce and you're good. The bun was especially good! I also got the mean green smoothie which was fantastic. Staff was really friendly and quick.

The few options are really tasty! - Edit
I went to the Cafe Brazil located in Richardson, but that hasn’t been approved to be added yet. All locations have the same menu though. I had the vegan tacos which were delicious! I also had the chips and guac to split and it comes with a gigantic and unnecessary bowl of chips. Anyway. Also offers a vegan ancient grains burger and vegan chili, which I have yet to try.

Very flavorful taco and burger - Edit
The staff here are so so nice. This area is pretty devoid of decent vegan options, but once I found out Cafe Brazil offer vegan tacos, I was coming every week during a long class break to eat and study and kill time in general. One time, a staff came by and offered to close the blinds for me. I love the flavors of the tacos and was so excited to see they added a second vegan option: the southwest bean burger. I normally don’t like black beans, but this burger is really great. Hopefully they’ll offer vegan breakfast options someday.
