Amazing! - Edit
Was glad to find this place is back open with a full lunch menu as it was temporarily shut last time I was in the Lakes. Had the nachos and carrot cake, which were both amazing — nachos were made with really nice home-made chips and the toppings were delicious. Couldn't get enough of the cake. Service was quick and very friendly, and the vibes are good. Everything on the menu sounded so good; I'd love to come back next time I'm here.

We got a selection of cakes to takeaway, all of which were delicious:

Unfortunately they’re closed on weekends so I can’t go there very often.

Good cafe. Would go back. - Edit
Very nice cafe serving great coffee, teas and cakes. They also had pizza flatbreads £10 each and can add fries or salad for £4.50. We had the meatball one and fries between 2 of us. A good lunch. Very tasty. Would definitely go back. Would be nice to see a bigger menu with options other than pizza. Although i do friggin love pizza.

We both had the Mediterranean pie and I followed it with a slice of carrot cake. The pie was really good, nicely cooked and a good size.

The soup was a chickpea soup, it was sweet as well as spicy - so good!

So much potential.... - Edit
We really want to love this place, but are struggling. We've tried going on a few visits to Keswick. The first time it was shut despite being within opening hours/day; the second time we were told they don't do food.... Errrm ok, how are you a Cafe then?; the third time they were short-staffed and only doing toasted tea-cakes and cakes. We ordered the Millionaire Cheesecake but the lass came over to say there were none left, so the only option was a run-of-the-mill brownie.
Read moreI'd like to point out the lass who served us was amazing despite being run ragged, she was helpful and pleasant.
Please Cafe Bar 26 up your game, we want you to be a success, and be our go to breakfast/lunch place on our frequent visits to Keswick.

Not much on offer - Edit
Sadly on my visit last week, this place was very lacking. Don’t expect a meal here, although it is filling vegan, the only things on offer were pastries, vegan sausage rolls, pasties etc, expensive ones at that. I didn’t even order, went somewhere else..

Nice food, check opening times - Edit
Had spotted this place one afternoon, so went back another day to find it closed. There was a sign in the door apologising for limited opening times and suggesting other vegan friendly places. Sadly I had no more days left in my holiday so the best I could do was call in for take away on the way home the next morning.
Read moreWe ordered savoury pastries and cakes. All were delicious. My husband said it was the best vegan cornish he's ever eaten. The millionaire cheesecake was also delicious (if a little difficult to eat as take away with your fingers!)
Interior is modern, and says cafe bar more than vegan cafe. Would have liked to eat in if I'd had the chance.

Good but could be great - Edit
The food is great but service needs to be a bit slicker. This could be a great vegan place and should proudly trumpet the fact that it is plant-based rather than seeming to apologise for it. The foccacia and broad bean dip was fabulous, as were the tabbouleh and the kofta.

Vegan Gem in Keswick - Edit
Lovely place for a vegan pit stop whilst in The Lakes. Great atmosphere and lovely cafe itself, music is chilled too. Visited for coffee and cake and back again the next day for lunch. Unfortunately only serving a very limited menu with cakes, small plates, wine and cocktails whilst they appoint a new chef. House milk is oat but have soya milk too. Check their opening hours before visiting as they don’t open every day. Will definitely be back next time we visit.
