New Owner- AMAZING vegan options - Edit
I’ve been away for over three years and the new owners have elevated the menu to include several vegan options. Fabulous food for a sit down dinner.

Amazing - Edit
Lots of vegan options. I had their Penne Ala Vodka (vegan style). What a delicious dish. We went for our anniversary and they gifted us one of their vegan desserts (I believe they had a total of 3 options).

Plentiful Plant-Based Options in Upscale, Forest Setting - Edit
A "downtown" business owner not only recommended Cafe Aroma but called for reservations for us. Plentiful and well-marked plant-based options. The restaurant is just a few minutes' drive from the city center. On the dinner menu, 6 starters and 6 pasta/main course dishes are either plant-based or can be prepared vegan. Staff was very helpful and attentive. We started with salads and a nice bottle of wine. For the main course, I had the spicy vegan Mac 'N Cheese dish called Rojo Dragon. It was delicious and zippy. My wife had an omnivore dish she very much enjoyed. For dessert we shared two vegan offerings a berry tart and no-sugar-added dark chocolate coated peanut butter balls, both delicious. Indoor seating is limited, and the restaurant is popular, so I suggest a reservation if possible.

Pros: Plentiful plant-based dishes or options, Attentive and knowledgeable staff, Beautiful setting with local art on the walls

Good vegan options!!! - Edit
I was excited to see some strictly vegan options on the menu, and there are other options that can be made vegan! We had the following vegan options; queso, bruschetta, the cashew Alfredo, and the frozen vegan tiramisu for dessert!!

Most vegan friendly restaurant in this town - Edit
Second time coming here since the new owner. I knew they had a few vegan items but was pleasantly surprised that they offer the option on about half their menu to make the dish vegan. Even our carnivore dining companions said our food looked great and they should try it next time. My husband had the weekday vegan cowboy, yummy. I had the cashew Alfredo and it was flavorful. So hungry we forgot to take pictures. Will be going back next time we are up here.

Lovely place in Idyllwild - Edit
My partner and I stumbled on this place while on vacation. We weren’t able to make a reservation, so we just showed up for an early dinner. They were able to accommodate us at the bar and I’m so glad they did. Our bartender ended up being the head chef and new owner (he and his wife bought the place July 2021) and he is vegan and a really nice guy!
Read moreWe had the bruschetta and he mentioned he could make the pasta with vodka cream sauce vegan with cashew cream. Wow, the pasta was delicious, we ate every last bite!
The new owner, Stewart, told us that he plans to bring on more vegan dishes and source their ingredients from sustainable farms. Looking forward to visiting here again and seeing the place evolve.
I highly recommend this spot! Make a reservation for dinner though, if you can.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Service was great, Food was delicious

Beautiful setting and Vegan-friendly - Edit
“Italian fusion” is a challenge for gluten-free plant-based eating but the folks at Cafe Aroma offer lots of options! The cauliflower risotto is creamy but dairy-free, there is pasta with spinach and mushrooms and signature salads you can top with tofu or Beyond burger instead of the listed chicken/ steak/ salmon. There are gluten-free vegan desserts and classy cocktails and a large wine list. Best of all is the peaceful open air patio surrounded with oaks and pines, like a picnic in the mountains but with attentive service, linens and chilled water in the glasses!

Good vegan options - Edit
Bonnie and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Cafe Aroma. We enjoyed two pasta entrees, both clearly marked on the menu with "pbv" for plant-based vegan options. Friendly service, very pleasant experience. A bit pricey, but good quality.
