Ok meal - Edit
Went with a group & atmosphere is great! To share, we got the Impossible burger with yam fries & tofu bowl. Burger was as expected, yam fries were not anything special & the tofu bowl was a bit underwhelming. That said, service was excellent & grateful for vegan menu options when dining with non-veg folks.

Not creative - Edit
I expected something like Earls menu-wise and quality-wise, since they are both chains “with Ⓥ options”, but Cactus Club didn’t measure up. There were about four menu items labeled as Ⓥ (none of the salads are naturally Ⓥ btw). We worked with a very helpful waitress who went out of her way to make sure we got a Ⓥ salad and vegan food, but I feel bad because her job shouldn’t be that hard. The menu should have many items, clearly labeled and one of those items should at least be a salad. When the food came out it was OK. Non-offensive but also not creative at all. Like trick stop vegan. Earls at least has six options and toasted quinoa and watermelon radish in their dishes. Not gourmet, but took some consideration on the chef’s part. I won’t be going back to Cactus Club personally - even with omnivore friends.

Surprisingly good vegan options, great drinks and brilliant service - Edit
Cactus Club continues to pleasantly surprise me. There are several Cactus Clubs across the city (my favourite is the one down near English Bay - a great view and away from the downtown versions that tend to attract either sports fans or work drinks nights), but they all offer a similar service with great staff, good drinks, a modern atmosphere and surprisingly good vegan options.
