Bee farm hotel

I actually went to the sister company called Bee farm hotel and they have a restaurant attached. I had the spicy aubergine and garlic rice. It was fantastic! It looked beautiful, tasted beautiful ( ginger and chilli! Yum)
And the watching the sun go down was beautiful.
The vegetables are organic and grown on the premises and you can make bread and ice cream. Also it has craft workshops and art using recycled materials every where.

Delicious Food

Enjoyed the vegetarian Pizza without cheese. It was very tasty. In General the Food is following a healthy approach compared to the Common Philippine Cuisine. When I‘ll be back in Bohol I would come again.

A little piece of heaven and hell

It was great to find some local greens at this island. They have an associated venue where they grow food (and exploit bees, sadly) and sell very interesting products. We had a decent meal at the balcony with an amazing sea view.

Pros: View of the sea, food quality

Cons: Not vegan, they are a bee farm

Great flowery food

I loved their chill location. As a vegan, I didnt have difficulty what to eat in buzz cafe. They have some great food with flowers.
Such a good experience. I would definitely visit again

Not interesting for vegans

Ehm... I don't really know why this restaurant is listed here? It's from an organic BEE farm, almost everything has honey. I came in and inquired about the vegan options and the waitresses informed me that nothing is, except of the icecream. I managed to 'veganize' one option, which ended up quite tasty (high quality organic food), but to organize a 99.99% meat and fish restaurant on happy cow while there are several other options..?

Cons: Nothing vegan, hardly anything vegetarian

Rather go elsewhere

Food was decent if a bit overpriced, but so is the rest of Alona beach. Mention the word "vegetarian" and they will go out of their way to tout their food as organic and gluten-free etc etc.

Atmosphere was completely ruined by a cat meowing in distress from the back of the restaurant towards the kitchen. This started halfway through our meal and continued for the rest of our time there.
I got up to ask the staff what was going on and whether we could help this cat at all. They could not have cared less and sort of laughed it off without bothering to check what was up. Very dodgy.

We left wondering whether they were killing cats in the kitchen.

There are other places in Bohol that you'll find vegetarian food. Give this place a skip.

Pros: Honey infused herb dip was very good View is good

Cons: Service is not good Expensive - compared to the re

Not much for vegans

Went out of our way to visit this place on the strength of other reviews so we wanted to set the record straight for any other vegans who are may visit in the future.
There are two Buzz Cafes. The first is an ice cream shop on the main road. It sells no vegan products.
The second is a deli and restaurant on White Beach. They have a good selection of fresh breads to take out, some of which are vegan. The spreads and deli items all contain either butter, honey or cheese.
After chatting to the staff we went upstairs to the restaurant and asked which items were vegan. We were told that only one item on the menu is guaranteed vegan. Vegetable Noodles.

Pros: Nice location the the beach, Fresh Breads

Cons: Not much for vegans

Beware Ice cream and honey

Buzz Cafe does have quite a few menu options that can be vegan, I truly enjoyed my fruit and nut salad (sans cheese and subbed dressing without honey). When I inquired about caribou and coconut milk icecream they told me all ice cream was made with the water buffalo's milk in combination with coconut milk. There IS another Buzz cafe about 1/10 mile away on the main street, with just ice cream and they confirmed their's was 100% coconut milk based. It was amazing!

Pros: Right on the beach, Takes credit card, many options

Cons: Must alter menu to make vegan, not great service

from the people that bought you Buzz cafe....

The Bee Farm (which isn't listed on happy cow currently) is a large venue that contains the first main restaurant, an amazing natural shop you can buy all biodegradable products and home made breads, vegetarian/vegan spreads etc. The food will be similar to that of Buzz cafe I think (I haven't compared menus). There are some nice healthy fresh veggie options in a lovely setting by the sea. You must try the fresh lumpia!

Pros: larger restaurant, access to organic shop

Cons: A bit further away from central Alona beach.

Delicious food and drinks

We loved it here, it's probably the best place to go for vegetarians in this area. The food is tasty, fresh and creative, the staff is nice and the complimentary chips and/or bread with spreads is a definite bonus. Try the ice cream (spicy ginger and durian are wonderful) and the drinks, as well!

Pros: Yummy, Organic, Friendly
