Vegan & Dog Friendly Cafe.

I visit Butlers often, you can park at Sainsbury’s and access the cafe from the back or from the front. They have some vegan options. The usual jacket potato, salad, avocado bagel, beans on toast and the soup is always vegan. They also have a vegan soup on every day and vegan cheese for paninis. They usually have one or two cakes on and soya milk for tea, coffee and lattes. They also do soya milkshakes. They welcome dogs and have a few games for children. There is a seating area outside. I always find it friendly and clean. Sometimes the staff are quite young so service can be a bit slow (just trying to be honest), not always though it depends what kind of day they are having. They do a nice vegan breakfast.

Pros: Vegan options, Dog friendly, Outdoor space

Cons: Service can be a little slow

Bad timing?

As per our usual approach, we tried the local independent before the chain. Unfortunately, the menu was much reduced because the cafe was due to be closed for several days for holidays, More unfortunate was that the very young staff did not tell us that the only vegan option was an avocado sandwich (jacket potatoes and soup were off) until we had sat for five minutes and chosen. The child seat was also filthy and needed cleaning before being used, for which the staff were apologetic We chose not to stay, heading to the Wetherspoons instead, which had a surprisingly good vegetarian and vegan menu.

Cons: Unclean chaild chair, Vegan choices limited, even more so on the day
