Apps are the best part - Edit
I love their appetizers so I come here for that, however, it seems they updated their menu so I’d give some of their new entrees a try. Speaking of which, I like their vegan brunch tofu scramble albeit a bit salty.

Cool atmosphere, vegan options - Edit
I was hoping for more vegan breakfast items, but settled for the breakfast burrito and home fries. All was pretty good, not spectacular. Staff wasn’t too knowledgeable about what could and couldn’t be made vegan from drink/coffee menu.
Read moreBonus points for the great space, which makes it worth it to visit. Bookstore full of diverse books on activism for kiddos and adults, plus small gift items. Langston Hughes influenced their name/decor and I loved reading quotes by him and other activists and poets.
Pros: Marked vegan options, Cool space
Cons: Staff unsure of vegan drink options and food mods, Solid food, but not amazing

Cool atmosphere. - Edit
Without the atmosphere, I wouldn’t have even given 3 stars. Vegan nachos left A LOT to be desired. The little book store was the best part.

Shall stick with the original bbp on U street. All such others in my view, a scale below. It's been a while, yet on the positive. A place to grab a bite on the fly.

Vegan options galore - Edit
Vegan options are clearly marked so I don’t have to figure out what to omit to “make it work”. And there are plenty of options to choose from. Worth the 40 minute trip. I’ve actually been there every weekend for the last 3 weeks and have something different every time and enjoyed everything I’ve had and so have my friends.

Get the vegan tuna sandwich! - Edit
I love Busboys & Poets and have frequented many of the locations over the years. I have been to this particular location a couple times in the last few weeks and have enjoyed my experiences. I love the variety of vegan options, atmosphere, friendly staff, and book shop selection (recently highlighting Ruth Bader Ginsburg books and merchandise). My favorite thing to order is the vegan tuna salad sandwich, but I also really like the tofu scramble. This is a great place to go with a group of people who eat a variety of different diets, or if you happen to be in College Park visiting a student.

(Update — vegan sliders off the menu now)Ordered the vegan sliders and they brought me Lamb sliders — terrible .... I’m vegan. Only came here because my manager was taking me to Lunch and she is NOT vegan. This use to be one of my favorite spots.

Super Tasty Food - Edit
I really liked the vibe of this place. It felt like such a welcoming environment and the place had such unique decor. The waiter was super friendly and the food was amazing. Their grilled Portobello sandwich was cheesy and flavorful. I love how they have vegan desserts too, I had the vegan cheesecake and it was sooo good. This place has SO many vegan options and I wanna try them all. This is a great place to eat if you're vegan.

2 days in a row! - Edit
While visiting friend in Maryland she took me here because she knew they had vegan options. First night I had Mediterranean Pasta with mushrooms added and it was delicious. We went back the next day and i ordered Vegan “Chicken” stir fry and it was even better. Winner winner chicken dinner 😍 I suspect I will be there again today for round #3

The best restaurant to go to with Omni friends and family - Edit
Great atmosphere at busboys which embraces social justice and eco conscious eating. I come here with my parents and brother who aren't vegan and the food is amazing for everyone. Tons of vegan options in every part of the menu. They also have a fully vegan menu they can bring out and alchohol is clearly labeled when vegan . I would give 5 stars if I could since honestly the vegan food here is better than a lot of the fully vegan places I've been to and there are enough options that you can get a different meal everytime.

Lovely - Edit
It had been awhile since I was in this area and was pleasantly surprised by how much it had changed. I love that there is a place where you can go with non-veg friends and all have an enjoyable, 3 course meal. The vegan items are clearly marked and the food was delicious. A nice trendy spot to eat and shoot the breeze.

Another Busboys and Poets - Edit
In Hyattsville, there are few choices for vegans. In that sense, this place is like saving grace to the vegan palate. However, after that, the food is just good. Not phenomenal, not disappointing, but diner casual restaurant good.
Read moreThe items are clearly marked vegan or vegetarian when so defined. Gluten free is also available for some items. The food is classic Americana - burgers, salads, appetizers, soups, coffee, drinks, desserts. There are vegan options for everything like a Cobb salad, falafel sandwich, veg burger, soy lattes, vegan soups, vegan panini/wraps/meats and desserts (soy yogurt parfait, cookie/ brownie/cheesecake). It's a ½ notch up from diner food, and a great choice for anyone needing vegan in this area of Maryland.
The food isn't bad, but it won't wow you and hope for the next time to return. This is more of a location of vegan options in a vegan desert that can accommodate non-vegans and vegans alike.
The staff are highly attentive, and the space occupied is more impressive than any other of the sister locations in the DC metro area.
Pros: Vegan items marked, Vegetarian items marked, Vegan lattes
Cons: Diner-style food

Love this place! - Edit
Not a 100%-veg place, however, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free items are clearly marked on the menu. What we had was so delicious! The coconut tofu bites and the poached pear salad. Still dreaming of the coconut tofu bites, and can't wait to go back! They also have two locations in Washington, DC and one in Arlington, VA. A good place to go if dining out with non-veg people who want to eat non-veg.
