Full vegan menu - Edit
There are way more than 2 vege options, the is an entire vegan menu. I had the vegan spicy chicken, than canned back for the vegan tofu burger. Both were fantastic, and they have vegan donuts as well, which were wonderful.

Not great - Edit
Giving two stars as I’ve had good experiences here before, and they do have several ‘vegan’ options, but the tofu burger I got last time was way too oily and the caramelised onions must be cooked on a shared grill as there were pieces of beef in them 🤢. They didn’t charge me for the burger but I would avoid going here in the future

Some vegan options - Edit
I missed some distinct flavors in their foods. I personally found them a bit too fatty. I know that everything is fried, pretty much. Unfortunately, they don't have separate oil for vegan food.

Secret vegan menu - Edit
The first thing I need to say about this place is that the vegan options are on a secret separate menu, which is annoying if you don’t know. We walked in earlier in the day, checked the menu, saw that there were no vegan burger options, and left. We came back later for a late lunch after seeing the Happy Cow listing.
Read moreThere are currently 4 vegan burgers on the secret menu, but there was no fake beef today so we were down to two choices. My partner and I both had the fake chicken with pineapple salsa. It was ok-good, but very very very saucy. This would not be ok if you were eating it outdoors somewhere without plates, napkins, and easy access to handwashing facilities.
Pros: Separate vegan menu
Cons: Secret separate vegan menu, - why do the vegan options need to be hidden!?

Fast food and beer - Edit
There is a separate vegan menu with at least four burgers. It’s fast food, but sometimes that is ok. There is a tofu burger, which was probably healthier but I did not get. Did get cole slaw tho with cabbage, carrots, sunflower seeds - and imo it was sized enough for two as a side. The burger I got was a bbq/pineapple/‘chicken’/ and the flavors were good.

Vegan options on a separate menu - Edit
Food was okay. Great location, especially the outside dining area on a nice day. Friendly staff.
Read moreThere are five or six vegan burgers available. The basic one (Cheezy) was smothered in cheese sauce (not in a good way), and the vegan buns (regular burgers come on brioche buns) were dry and crumbly. Fries were very good, and having ketchup on the table is a welcome rarity in NZ.
Will try a different vegan burger next time. Worth a visit if nothing else tickles your fancy.
Pros: Separate vegan menu, Good location, Friendly staff
Cons: Vegan buns are dry and crumbly, Too much sauce on burger

Just Okay - Edit
We had veggie burgers and sweet potato fries. Nothing outstanding, but we were happy to have the option of a veggie burger and beer for a dinner out. I thought the prices were high for what we received. Usually when ordering a burger the fries or salad are part of the price, but not here.

Fantastic vegan fast food! - Edit
We were so glad we chose to eat at Burger Culture. They had some good vegan options, including cheese topped fries, fried pickles with Vegan aioli and a great tofu burger. Other burgers can be veganised, but when we visited they were out of vegan beef and chicken, but offered fried tofu.
Read moreWe also ordered milkshakes (they use soy milk and coconut ice cream) which were delicious, but were also our undoing as we ran out of room and weren't able to finish everything, despite it being really good!
Pros: Good vegan options, Friendly, helpful staff (vegan aware), Amazing milkshakes
Cons: They were out of vegan beef and chicken

Vegan 🍔 Burgers, Shakes & Donuts 🍩 - Edit
Really reasonable selection for an omni place. No more vegan bun surcharge.

Pros: Food, Atmosphere , Donuts
Cons: All menus were just printer paper, Shakes are scary good, you'll doubt them...

lots of options - Edit
I liked that they had a separate vegan menu, the atmosphere was good and staff were nice, however I did think my burger was a bit plain. Wasn’t much exciting and I found the vegan cheese a bit much after a while. The fries were also very basic, I expected a little more for the price. Hopefully the other burgers are better than the one i got.

Huge vegan menue - Edit
Burger Culture has a huge vegan menue. The vegan Hilary Duffalo was one of the best burgers I ever had. Also the fries an the vegan mayo were very tasty. Deserves even 5 stars, if it would be possible. The outdoorseating area is very beautiful and well located. You have a view to the church and pedestrian area. Also the inside of the restaurant is very nice. They have a lot of cool street art of classic video games and rock and hip hop artists.

Cultured - Edit
I could immerse my self in the burger culture for a year and still not be culturally competent at the end of it. I like both the tofu burger (sometimes quite oily fried but also yum satay/peanut) and jackfruit burger and onion rings.

Yummy shake but bun gross - Edit
Lots of vegan options on the menu, which was awesome to see. We tried the strawberry milkshake, which was yum and looked great. My burger (tofu) was disappointing - the bun (unfortunately all vegan buns are gluten free too) was inedible. I just ate the filling, which was a bit plain. My partner enjoyed his burger and his bun wasn’t as gross, though still dry as it was gluten free. Please add a gluten bread option for those of us who actually like bread and can eat it!

Meatless Eats Tuesday - Edit
They have a special vegan menu serving all day on Tuesdays at a cheaper price than regular days. AWESOME!! We had the Hashanati ("chicken schnitzel" burger with hashbrown) and one of the Beyond Burgers No-meat-orious - absolutely delicious. Also, if you go during the hours of 12pm -3pm you can get any burger fries softie drink for only $20. HUGE BARGAIN and so many vegan things we can't even decide what to get. Tons of vegan sides like popcorn cauliflower and loaded fries. Super yummy, fun setting and friendly helpful staff. Will definitely be back!!! And they also have a couple of vegan donuts those really yummy vegan popsicles.

Really yum burgers, had lots of different vegan options which was great, mix of tofu/jackfruit/beyond burger and I believe a chicken substitute. A little expensive but the service was good and food came quick.

Awesome place - Edit
This place was great, my wife and I ate with a couple friends of ours and the vegan Beyond burger was great basic cheeseburger, added mushrooms and onions to my taste. A little pricey but high quality meals and good options for standard and craft beers.

High price for average food - Edit
We ordered the tofu burger and the jackfruit burger. The tofu burger had battered fried tofu topped with about 8 peanuts and a squirt of soy sauce. Despite those being already quite pricy for something made out of cheap ingredients, we had to pay a $2 surcharge for subbing for a vegan bun.
Read moreThe only alternative would have been to order a meat burger without cheese and pay a $4 surcharge to sub for a beyond patty, plus the $2 for the vegan bun, making a vegan burger $6 more expensive than the same one with a meat patty and cheese.
Communication with servers was also poor. Eg only after asking for the bill twice and waiting for 15 minutes at our table, we were told that we had to pay at the bar.
Cons: Expensive for vegans, Average food, Poor communication with servers

Great place for mixed groups - Edit
This is a great spot for vegans and vegetarians, especially if your group includes omnivores. I had the “I’m Sorry Ms. Jackfruit” (be sure to ask for the vegan bun!) - which was delicious. They don’t use eggs in their batter, so the onion rings and cauliflower poppers are suitable for vegans. I tried the cauliflower poppers, which were okay. Overall, it’s a fun place with great options!

Greasy and extremely spicy, good concept but poorly executed - Edit
Really wanted to like this burger, great concept but poorly executed! Tofu was battered like fish which was actually really nice- but the chilli soy sauce was overpoweringly salty and very spicy. So much sauce and grease that the bun dissolved. This would be a great burger with a more balanced sauce and a crisper bun.
Read moreThey now offer beyond burgers as a sub for $4 and vegan buns for $1.50 which imo is a bit of a rip off as it doesn't cost any more to make a vegan bread??
Pros: Tofu was nice
Cons: Very spicy and salty , Way too much sauce so bun was soggy , Costs more to sub for vegan bun??
