Excellent Ethiopian food - Edit
Ethiopian food is easy to do vegan anywhere, but fully vegan Ethiopian place? Fantastic. I worked near here for over a year and somehow never stopped by. That was a mistake. Just got pickup and it was great—the “feast” for $19 was very solid (if slightly on the small side). All of the different entrees were great!

Incredible - Edit
Huge fan of Bunna, they may be my favorite Ethiopian restaurant I've ever been to.
Read moreEverything was fresh and delicious. Fosolia and keysir selata were my two favorite items, but they're all incredible and worth trying.
Their injera isn't dry and it's perfectly squishy. Samosas were crisp and flavorful.
Loved their cup of Ethiopian coffee, and it's the only place I've ever had it. It's brewed with cardamom and cloves and it's the perfect little pick-me-up.
Lovely vibes, interior, and friendly staff.
Pros: Nice vibe, Friendly staff

I could literally pitch a tent out front and live off of this food. I live in NJ and it costs me roughly $40 just to get there.. THAT’S how much I love it. Wish it was closer. Absolute bomb!!

Love This Place! - Edit
I haven’t been here in ages & I’ve also not done a review here for them. Bunna has been around for quite a few years now and have consistently served delicious veggie Ethiopian comfort. Today I had the Feast which comes with 7 choices on top of injera bread. They have 9 choices so it was really difficult to omit 2 because I love all of them! Great vibe & atmosphere here. I don’t live in Bushwick but always happy to make the trek from my area to eat this yummy food. They upped the spice level too & I have a nice buzz from the heat in today’s meal.

Solid choice - Edit
Cool space with nice decor. Was very clean and lighting was nice. Appears to be family run and operated and they were friendly.
Read moreHad the feast for two. Very tasty over all. Portions weren't feast like for us, but we do both have big appetites.
UPDATE 2023 I CHANGED TO 5 STARS. WE HAD THE FEAST FOR TWO 9 ITEMS AND IT WAS PLENTY OF FOOD FOR US.
Favourites on the spread were the yellow lentils, seasonal special, the mushrooms and the red lentils.
Tried the baklava (not gf, but I felt I HAD to try it). Wasn't worth it imo. But I prefer the drier baklava to the very drenched in syrup.

So fun to try - Edit
Got the vegan feast for 2 and it did not disappoint. So many different flavors to try and everything was cooked to a tee. Wish this was closer so I could order my faves again. But glad to have experienced it and would definitely recommend it!! Some stuff is spicy for real though, so be careful if that is not up your alley.

Yeah I mean this is the best vegan restaurant I’ve been to in living here. Communal style eating, brilliant whole food dishes, not hyper processed, super flavorful, diversity of dishes, zero complaints. Bring some friends and get the feast

Best Ethiopian Food I've ever tasted including in Ethiopia. Everything tasted fresh and light and fantastic, the injira was perfect, the shiro savory, the daata extra hot and as such did not notice the meal was missing fresh raw hot chilis until much later.
Read moreThe baklava with coffee turbinado syrup sauce was spectacular. Enjoyed my Ethiopian coffee. I don't know how else to say it, so I'll just repeat for emphasis, this is the best Ethiopian cuisine I have ever tried anywhere in the world. Absolutely amazing.
Pros: vegan Ethiopian, spicy on request, cute, clean and pleasant dining room

Some of the best food I have ever had in my life - Edit
Brunch was incredible—every dish in the combo was delicious, and my Ethiopiano was wonderful, too. So much flavor and clearly so much love going into the food. Ate a great deal and didn’t feel heavy or uncomfortable afterward. The ambiance is warm and cozy and the staff were very welcoming. Can’t wait to return for dinner.
