Sausage in vegan dish - Edit
I ordered the succotash-stuffed Chile relleno (which is marked vegan on the menu) and about half way through eating it I noticed there was sausage in the rice and beans mixture (multiple pieces). I am completely disgusted and disappointed. I have been veggie for 13 years and I find it very annoying when restaurants mark vegan on a menu, but don’t take it seriously enough to be one thousand percent sure it is vegan. The waiter and manager were kind, but it doesn’t make up for the mix up. I am not sure if there is an issue with training or labeling and organization in the kitchen, either way that should NEVER happen. I wish I never would have went there. On a side note, the drinks and atmosphere were nice.

Unexpected awesomeness - Edit
Server was awesome, the Southern Protein Bowl sans poached egg was amazing. The mister had the quinoa/black bean burger and it was awesome, too. They had a cauliflower steak which we did not order but, dang, we’ll be back. Who’d a thunk it?

Lil’ South in the Midwest - Edit
Down home cooking with vegetarian and vegan options
Read morePros: Biscuits and corn muffins amazing, Homemade jam, Great ambiance and quiet outdoor space
Cons: The cauliflower “steak” was tasty but weird , It was emulsified and more like a potato pancake, I’d prefer a good old slice of cauliflower

SO FLIPPIN GOOD - Edit
I have only done take out from GrubHub so cant speak for the store front itself. However the food is DANG GOOD! I got the cauliflower steak and it was so delicious that I doubted that it wasn't meat. This dish is vegetarian and I'm not sure if it can be made vegan. However they do have other things on the menu that are vegan. I also got the mashed potatos and they were good a little dry, but good. I'll definitely be going in person sometime soon maybe for a date night with my meat eater bf. It is a little pricy so definitely not somewhere I can afford to go too often.
