Craft beer venue located just inside Chinatown, and easily accessible from JR Ishikawacho or Minatomirai Motomachi stations. Serves both domestic and international beers, available for purchase for takeout or inside the restaurant. Most beverages are made without the use of animal products but some beers, on occasion, do contain things like honey or lactose- ask staff, who are familiar with veganism. Offers a small selection of food (subject to availability) which is almost all vegan. Run by a native English speaker. No smoking. Relocated from Motomachi 5 Chome, 190. Open Mon-Tue 2:00pm-10:00pm, Thu-Fri 2:00pm-10:00pm, Sat-Sun 11:00am-10:00pm. Closed Wed.

At least he was honest - Edit
Don't bother going to this place if you're not planning on drinking. I was turned away because I just wanted to eat food and not drink, on a weekday afternoon. He told me that he would be losing money by making the food if I'm not going to drink. He apologized and told me leave in a kind way, so I did. I do really respect it though, hopefully their business is doing well.

Small pub like restaurant - Edit
The atmosphere is very cozy.
Read moreThe burger was good, but our food took a while and for the amount it’s quite expensive. The menu has not many options , so I don’t recommend coming here if you’re very hungry.
Reading older reviews here it seems like they cut down their menu a bit.

Great spot for a lunch and a brew - Edit
I had the tofu burger while my husband had the pasta. We also did the hummus plate. All was tasty. Especially the fries from Hokkaido potatoes. We even ordered another batch of them. And yes, the beer is amazing as previously mentioned. My husband had a few Scottish Ale’s and they were verified vegetarian friendly on the beer label. Cute spot, especially when there isn’t many option in Yokohama! The owner speaks English and knows his beer very well. We left with a microbrew map and a flyer for an upcoming brew fest.

English below 👇

We finally got a chance to try Bruntons, an all-vegetarian craft beer bar located in Motomachi (closest station: Ishikawachō). The experience did not disappoint!
The interior is charming, airy, and clean. The friendly staff said that everything on the menu is vegan except for a certain beer and the ice cream.
There were so many options to choose from, but finally we selected the tofu burger, hummus and pita, and pepperoncino pasta. The tofu burger was delicious, made by hand each day from the owner’s original recipe.
The pasta was also quite good, with lots of different veggies that made it fun to eat. But the dish that really impressed us was the hummus, which was creamy and flavorful, served with warm, homemade pita. WOW!!!
We’re not big drinkers, but we ordered their “nomi kurabe” beer set. You can choose three different beers from what they have on tap, served in small glasses. We chose three beers from Kanagawa, including a pineapple ale, and it was fun to compare the three.
Speaking with the owner on the way out, he said they didn’t have as many customers as they would like. It would be a real shame to lose such a charming place with so many delicious vegan options. So here is our call to action: Eat at Brunton’s!!! And please help us spread the word about this hidden gem in Yokohama.
Pros: Delicious food , Passionate owners , Clean, comfortable space
Cons: A little pricey, but worth it

combines two of my favorite things; craft beer and vegetarian/vegan food - Edit
Nice little place near Ishikawacho Station on the 2nd floor of a building, up a steep flight of stairs.
Read moreThe owner (English speaker) understands veganism perfectly.
The craft beers are mostly vegan, but the owner said occasionally one will have an ingredient like lactose or honey, so if you tell the staff you're vegan they'll point out what you can't have.
I'm not sure the building had an elevator so it might be hard for people with limited mobility to access.
Edit: They've recently changed their menu. Except for their vanilla ice cream, none of the other food items have animal ingredients. They have mixed nuts, pickles, potato salad, miso-flavored tofu, couscous, bruschetta, salad, hummus w/pita bread, tofu burger, pasta of the day, and beer pancakes with tofu whipped cream. I highly recommend the tofu burger and beer pancakes- the pancakes were to die for.
Highly recommended.

Bruntons, Yokohama - Edit
As a vegan I very much appreciated finding this warm and cozy spot where I could have some great craft beer, hummus and pita, veggie pizza and newly added, tofu burgers. Great snack menu for an evening with friends. The hosts are very knowledgeable about craft beer and being VEGAN! A welcome relaxed, place with friendly hosts. I visited many times on my recent trip and would recommend it to anyone visiting this beautiful city. What more could you ask for, great atmosphere, comfortable seating and wonderful hosts. I'd give it 5 stars*****

Great discovery - Edit
Bruntons is a wonderful pub, with very interesting beer and very delicious vegetarian food (we had great tofu and tofu burger). The service is extraordinary friendly, and an extra treat was the very good music played. The restaurant is on the first floor, overlooking a busy street, and we decided to go there again.
