Lovely cafe

We found this lovely cafe when in Tenderton for the weekend, we had lunch on arrival and breakfast on our last day. Very nice food , good choice and lovely staff. Tony Robinson was in there too which was fun. Highly recommend.

Traditional cafe vegan options for breakfast and lunch

We were pleasantly surprised to find this cafe had vegan options. From the outside it looks like a traditional British cafe with breakfast and sandwiches. There is loads of choice for vegetarians but also a fair amount for vegans too. Most of the American pancakes are vegan, there's also a full vegan breakfast and then other sandwiches which can be veganised or made gluten-free in addition to a changing cake display which had at least two choices on the day we visited.
We had the sausage sandwich, a children's sausage and chips made vegan and a mushroom and cheese sandwich that was also veganised. The menu is very clear about what is already vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free and what can be adapted.
The food itself really hit the spot. Simple but evocative of childhood. We had brown sauce on the sandwich and the server came out to tell us that the baguette contained milk so we needed to have the sandwich option. This attention to detail impressed us and we felt confident in their knowledge of what vegan actually means. The cheeze and mushroom sandwich had a lovely melt to the cheeze and was throughly enjoyed.
The coffee was also good and it was a refreshing change to have free oat milk.
If you are in the area and want a quick and satisfying way to fill up then I would recommend visiting this cafe.

Pros: Vegan and vegetarian options, Friendly and knowledgeable staff, Toilet on the premises

Cons: Serves meat
