Welcome find for Breakfast

With a whole day to fill, we had an early start in Edinburgh and began searching for somewhere serving a vegan breakfast (so many places to choose from in Glasgow!). All the recommended haunts didn't open until 12 ish so we trawled the streets until we ended up at Browns. They must have read the two previous reviews on Happy Cow because the breakfast we ate was imaginative, well thought out and cooked perfectly.
The description on the menu was :
"Beetroot hash, smashed avocado, scrambled tofu, grilled tomato,
flat mushrooms, rustic roll" and for £10.95, in Edinburgh, not too expensive. I asked if I could have sourdough instead of a roll and the waitress serving us was worried that it might not be vegan and went to check - it was.
The beetroot hash was delish and the tofu scramble mixed with spinach and a few spicy beans, different and yummy. Even some vegan restaurants don't quite get how to make the best of tofu scramble!
Always a shame when you have to go to a restaurant that serves meat, but at least they had made a huge effort to cook something more interesting than a frozen vegan sausage!
We would definitely go back.

Pros: Ate in a nice outside area on a sunny day, Good coffee with oat milk, Water provided for our wee dog.

Cons: If only it was completely vegan... one day!

Very underwhelming breakfast

The avocado toast was barely toasted, and the scrambled tofu was literally warmed up silken tofu, no seasoning - the lowest effort vegan option I've seen in a long time!

Cons: Very poorly executed vegan options

Basic vegan brunch

Went for brunch but the only vegan option was avocado toast. Food was tasty but its difficult to mess that one up.

Only two vegan options for mains

The salad sounded boring so my husband and I both had the curry. The curry was pretty good, but with only one realistic option it’s unlikely we’ll go back anytime soon. The service was good and it’s a lovely place.

Pros: Nice ambience , Good service , The curry was nice

Cons: Disappointing vegan options

Disappointing vegan options

Either a curry or salad. I opted for the salad as the curry was made with coriander. Was super disappointed as the salad was just leaves a few tiny bit of beetroot, 1 tomato and a bit of cucumber. £13 for this! Not what I call a salad obviously the chef don’t know what a good salad is. Wouldn’t go here again. The chips are also cooked in the meat so I had to have gluten free chips which were cooked separately. How disappointing.

Pros: Bad options , Awful salad

Cons: Bad options , Awful salad , Wouldn’t return
