Good quality food

Given this is an 'ordinary' gastropub, without a particular focus on veggie or vegan food, I thought the quality of both the vegan main course and dessert was excellent. More v/ve choices than most pubs, and they clearly know what they're doing when it comes to flavours.
This looks like a very good place to go with a large group: plenty of space and a menu that has something for everyone.

Below Average- would not recommend

Not a lot of vegan options.. They were also out of the one vegan starter on the menu

Just OK

The main menu only had a few vegan options; most of it was quite meaty. They had a vegan burger and a couple of sides/starters.

I was there on a Sunday and had the vegan roast. The vegetarian version comes with yorkshire pudding; the vegan version is exactly the same, but without it. I asked whether it was replaced with anything else and was told abruptly that it wasn't. I've seen yorkshire pudding replaced with more veggies or something else, but not here.

The nut roast was OK, just OK. Not very nutty.

The pub is nice inside and has some good outside seating.

I wouldn't go out of my way for this place.

Fabulous dishes

We had a fabulous vegan meal here (warm spiced butternut squash & sugar snap salad on coconut & tumeric cream, with choc tart afterwards). It's a gastropub with a decent amount of space, and a small outdoor area at the back. When we went there was a vegan dish on the special (as well as the regular), plus also vegan Sunday roast. Our main course was posisbly the best vegan dish I've had this year, great flavours.
