I liked the taste of the salads but at sumo salad you get more quantity for a cheaper price. Still good though for a healthy option.

I eat lunch from here several times a week. Small polished take away with creative Vegan and Vegetarian salads. A choice of 5 made there every day, the selections change and are always excellent. A small range of beautiful deserts. $14 for the small box container that is packed and never hungry afterwards. Larger sizes available.

Healthy nutritional salads - Edit
Introduced to this place by a roommate a few years ago, who used to buy a big tub of salads & use it in her lunches throughout the week. It's pretty pricey but they do pack the container well, so can last the week as a side-dish. Before transitioning to veganism, I tried some of their yummy baked things (the cupcakes are delightful) so now I'm missing those, unfortunately. Hope they offer vegan baked goods too in the future.

Read moreThis upscale salad shop sells beautiful gourmet salads that are healthy and delicious. It’s a takeaway shop and there are no seats inside, but it’s not too difficult to find some benches within walking distance.
On the day of visit, the branch on Doggett St (near Fortitude Valley, or the Valley) has 5 out of 7-8 options that are vegan. There’s also a vegan chocolate brownie. The staff is knowledgeable of which ones are vegan, but it would be better if they are marked. The small salad box is already filling as it is filled to the brim.

Good Value and Great Salads - Edit
Most salads are vegan, although always good to ask, as staff are obliging and well-versed on their products. Even small serving ($12) is generous and definitely more than I could eat as one person(!!) so great that there is the option to have multiple salads in the one container for variety.
Read more++ Points for their salad container being cardboard and their takeaway carry bags being paper too.
Tried their broccoli slaw - vegan - and thank goodness because it was incredible, delicious and with so much flavour.
Also tried a tabbouleh style salad and a grain salad. Both were excellent, lots of variety and flavour and nicely dressed, but really nothing compared to that broccoli slaw.
Salads also lasted well through the day in the heat, as we bought them around 10.30 and were carting them around the Mt Cootha Botanic Gardens for a solid 3 hours at least before we ate them, and they kept really well.
Can't wait to return!!
