Tasty comfort food (and a couple of hidden kitties!)

Had the vegan full breakfast—they accidentally brought out the vegetarian at first, but I noticed because the eggs looked too real. No problem switching to tofu scramble and non-buttered toast. It was really tasty, and as a bonus, I got to sit next to a couple of sleepy kitties hidden amongst the books on lower shelves.

5*

I’d happily give this place 5 stars if possible.

Granted, the menu is not the healthiest Vegan food you’ll ever see. It is however, delicious and there are copious amounts of options, both for vegans and veggies. The Vegan Full English Breakfast included some of the nicest mock meats I’ve ever had.

Well worth visiting if you’re in the area.

Also lots of books to buy/trade and board games to play.

Pros: Loads of options., Great tasting food. , Vegan Full English!

Cons: Not the healthiest.

5 stars!

If the app let me rate this place 5 stars I would. Food is amazing, vegan menu is 4 pages, and the owner is so lovely! This place has everything! Western food, English food and local food. Highly recommend it! I have this far had their vegan full English breakfast, their spicy bean burger and the lentil burger. All were delicious and prices are also great.

Pros: amazing vegan menu, food is awesome, about 10 Coca Cola flavours

Good...but

Meals were cheap and good. Average level. First place I checked out though :)

Service was low, I spoke basic Vietnamese and that didn't change things. Would potentially check out again depending on what's on offer in Saigon.

Pros: lots of vegan options, books, wifi

Cons: service is average

huge vegan menu and little service

We went there for it's huge vegan menu. Maybe it was because we were there early in the morning but service and friendliness left room for improvement. Vegan englisch breakfast was good.

Thanks for saying the vegan full English breakfast was good. Sorry about the service "being" unfriendly. Early in the morning my wife takes our daughter to a kindergarten and so only the ladies who cook are here and they don't speak much English. Maybe that's why you felt negative vibes. Please come again after 9am when my wife is here or after 3pm when I'm here. Just look at all the positive reviews about the service. As you have stated the vegan food was good. Please don't miss out on our other vegan food like lentil burgers, vegan apple crumble, vegan fish "n" chips, vegan cheese pizzas, local food vegan style, etc, all because the service wasn't what you expected. Please see the true warmth of the place.
Again sorry about the way you felt.

Great!!

Great vegan food ( so many choices) and really nice owner who invited us back tomorrow to try a vegan crumble he's making. Was nice to eat some comfort food and read a book. The cottage pie was massive and really good!

Loved it here

If i could give it 5 stars, I would. Kieran, the owner was a proper down to earth chap who we had a great chat with. Reasonably priced food, and great western and Vietnamese dishes. We had the full English, a cup of tea and a crepe; delicious!
Would love to go again if I ever visit Saigon again.

Pros: Fantastic selection of western dishes which can be, Lovely owner , plenty of games to play/books to read

Cons: nothing!

best food in town and great atmosphere

Extensive menu for vegans & veggies both Western and Vietnamese food. Second hand books to swap or buy around the wall and board games to play make it the best place in town for one (or more) relaxing evenings out. They do other food options as well.

Pros: Wide variety of vegan options

Excellent friendly cafe

Went to this place two days in a row as there are many many delicious options for vegans and non-vegetarians, a rare find indeed as my partner is hardcore vegan and I am not. The owner is an absolute gent, the place is full of books, British charm and is a quiet nook on a busy rowdy street.
We would definitely return when in Ho Chi Minh for the wide variety and good banter

Pros: Vegan and non-vegetarian menu, "Black Books" vibes, Relaxed and refreshing

Cons: That I cant give them 5-stars on this website

Great little book cafe

Run by an expat and his local wife. Walls are lined with secondhand books for sale, or just perusing while you wait for your food. Large menu, with separate and equally large vegan menu. Local dishes (such as savoury pancakes) were fantastic. Western food makes up much of the menu, but unfortunately the vegan burger wasn't the best I have tasted (soy patty, small, not much flavour). Would be interested in returning to try their full vegan all day English breakfast. Otherwise I'll probably stick to the local food. Also sell cheap wine by the glass.

Pros: Huge menu , Local food tasted great, Lots of books to choose from

Great experience

Very glad to have discovered that little restaurant/café. Just the service alone deserves 5 stars! The owner is so friendly and helpful. I also liked very much the food I ordered and my boyfriend (omni) was very pleased too. Amazing menu for omnis as well as vegetarians/vegans with great choices probably very difficult if not impossible to find elsewhere in the city (like the british "breakfast" you can enjoy any time of the day)
And even though i haven't yet ordered but I will in my next visit. Coffee. Finally not a place where people will be dazzled when asking for soya milk (which they don't have in any regular coffee place apparently) I mean fruit juices and teas only can get you so far ;)

Pros: A very extensive vegan menu, Great service, Books

Amazing Vegan Food!!!

Such a cute cafe, with a separate and extensive vegan menu. I had the Vegan brekkie crepes with banana and maple- delicious! My sisters ordered the veg sausage and veg bacon on toast and both enjoyed. The Vegan dinner menu has so so many options, hoping to go back for dinner! Staff were really lovely as well.

Pros: also a second hand book shop!

Delicious Vegan Food

My partner (omni) and I went here today and really enjoyed it. There's a whole separate vegan menu with lots of Vietnamese and classic British dishes to chose from. I had the tofu and vegetable pho and my partner had a full English breakfast. There are loads of books and board games to use which creates a nice cozy atmosphere. All in all, for a book loving vegan like myself, I'd say it was perfect. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes!

Pros: Books, Tasty vegan food

Full vegan menu

Large menu with breakfast, lunch and dinner options such as full vegan english breakfast, vegan sunday roast, traditional Vietnamese dishes, burgers and baguettes. Mock meets and tofu. Good place if you want a change up from Asian food. Plant based milk available however my coffee wasn't very hot. I do recommend. Many second hand books, free wifi and bathroom facilities. Friendly staff and library like atmosphere.

Cons: coffee not hot

average tasting vegan food

Ordered the vegan chicken baguette which was just okay, not that much flavour. The vegan pancake tasted nice but wasn't anything special. The vegan menu is quite extensive and includes some Vietnamese and a lot of western food.

Pros: lots of vegan options

Cons: not enough flavour

Definitely a 5 star experience!

They have a separate vegan menu including English breakfast, sausages, rice pancakes, claypot dishes, burgers, fish n chips, and typical Vietnamese food and a lot more.
I ordered mushroom and tofu claypot and vegan spring rolls and they were one of the best I've had in Vietnam.
Owner was a super friendly vegetarian :)
We payed for 2 beers, claypot with rice, spring rolls and noodles with veggies and tofu 215 000 dong.

huge vegan menu

They have 2 menu's, one which is purely vegan and features some classic British dishes that have been veganised, such as a full English and a Sunday roast!
It also has a large Vietnamese vegan menu, and of course a menu for meat eaters aswell, with lots of vegetarian options within the main menu also.

Not particularly cheap but certainly not outrageous, the most expensive vegan option I saw was the roast at 160,000 dong, but that included a drink of your choice off of the main menu.

Pros: huge choice for vegans, reasonably priced

Cons: looked slightly run down, could do with a clean
