Disappointing Vegan Brunch for a 1-Michelin star Restaurant - Edit
If you're into trying new flavors and vegan, you're spoiled with many other better choices in Berlin. We came here for brunch, and while it's a cute atmosphere, we felt very pressured to order water (at a price) and staff made comments about us not ordering water around 3 times. I get it, it's a fancy restaurant, but I think they take themselves too seriously.
Read moreThey only have 3 vegan options for brunch, and no vegan protein option (they can sub potatoes for eggs in the shakshuka for instance). I ordered the fried oyster mushroom toast, and while it was fine, it just felt very bland and boring. There was nothing truly special, which I'd expect for a 1-star restaurant. You're better off finding somewhere else in the city for brunch!

The food was so good although I only had the vegetarian options but if you’re vegetarian I defo recommend. Defo the best brunch I’ve ever had.

Not many vegan brunch options - Edit
We came for brunch and I got the Zen Master Breakfast bowl. My partner wanted to order the “not French toast” but they were out of the key ingredients that morning. It was a bit disappointing considering how few vegan options were on the menu. He ordered the Shakshuka vegan version, but they brought it with egg. We had to send it back and wait for them again. I enjoyed the bowl and the sauce that came with it. The cauliflower was light and crispy and the peanuts gave it a nice crunch. The shakshuka was also pretty good, but he said the espresso martini was only mid and too sweet. Overall, the experience was okay, but could use more vegan options.

Staff is very kind and efficient and food was absolutely amazing. All very carefully prepared and beautifully served with a great combination of ingredients and flavours. I would happily go back and totally recommend. Real vegetarian fine dining.

We had the 6 course tasting menu with cocktail pairing. Things like burned apple on one of the dishes and parsnip covered with white chocolate were surprisingly good. So was the cocktail pairings. Instead of ordinary cocktails there were things like whisky with mushroom foam on it. Lots of flavours, plenty of food very good friendly service. They also always told us that the milk or cheese in our food was plant based explicitly. Its a bar and not an ideal setting for a fancy dinner. Other than that it was great.

We came here for my birthday. I had the delicious 6 course tasting menu, with the accompanying cocktails. Every course was great & the drinks really interesting. Staff were really friendly and kindly talked us through each dish in English. The only issue was that the kitchen seemed to be struggling a bit with timing so it took a long time between each course — the meal took almost four hours! So I would suggest starting a meal there earlier rather than later.

Bin spontan mit einer Freundin zum Dinner gekommen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und über die Speise- und Getränkekarte aufgeklärt. Wir entschieden und letztendlich für das 6 Gänge Menü mit Getränkebegleitung. Eine sehr gute Entscheidung! Alle Gänge waren offensichtlich gut durchdacht und die Begleitung passte perfekt zum jeweiligen Gang.

Spontaneous dinner our first night in Berlin - so worth it! - Edit
After whatsapping the restaurant before our flight we descended upon it without a reservation (possible only on a weeknight). The staff seated us at a spacious table. We aren't big eaters so we ordered the bread and a 3-course dinner, plus a cocktail and a glass of wine. The staff was attentive and lovely. The food was outstanding, and so unusual! My cocktail was delicious and if I hadn't had a headache I would have ordered another. I recommend Bon Vivant and would definitely eat there again. Love the place!

Schon lange wollten wir mal das Bonvivant ausprobieren. Da ich die einzige „rein pflanzliche“ Person in der Gruppe war, war ich etwas skeptisch wegen der vorhergehenden Bewertungen. Meine Bedenken waren aber unnötig. Auf Nachfrage wurde mir sofort mitgeteilt, welche Gerichte vegan sind - warme wie auch kalte. Zusätzlich wurde mir unaufgefordert die „Veganisierung“ eines weiteren Gerichtes angeboten. Da ich eher der Typ unaufdringlicher Pflanzenesser bin und anderen tierische Produkte gerne lasse, war ich mehr als zufrieden.

The food looks great. Tastes great. But it's 4 carrots... So what can I say about that? 17€ is what I can say.. and we had te go find another vegan place to get the belly filled.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und auf Anfrage auch vegan, allerdings wurde mir sehr spitzfindig mitgeteilt, dass sie ein VEGETARISCHES Restaurant sind und zB viel mit Butter arbeiten, aber großzügigerweise das jetzt extra für mich weggelassen haben.

Preise liegen eher etwas höher (zum satt zu werden brauch man min. 2 Gerichte)

NOT AT ALL - we totally loved every dish and we had one of the best cocktails there.

Das Konzept ist großartig, es wird saisonal und regional gekocht, alle Zutaten harmonieren perfekt miteinander. Jedes Gericht ist bis ins kleinste Detail durchdacht und man kann auf jedem Teller die Liebe und Wertschätzung zum Lebensmittel erkennen. Die Cocktails sind ein Traum und das Restaurant ist gemütlich und sehr schön eingerichtet.
Es war ein toller und besonderer Restaurant-Besuch.

It made me emotional eating there. I never experienced eating vegetables in a way like this. Every dish was so perfectly balanced and they offer a cocktail pairing... I was in heaven!

Vegan war nur das Brot - Edit
Aufgrund der vielen Instagramwerbung sind wir mit einer größeren Gruppe hin. Leider gab es keine warme Mahlzeit in vegan. Nur das Brot. Außerdem war die Bedienung unangenehm auf Gewinnmaximierung bei der Bestellannahme aus. Sehr unschön. Leider waren auch die Getränke kein Trost. Schade.
