Good Banh Mi - Edit
This was our first meal in HCMC and it didn’t disappoint! We ordered two kinds of bahn mi and summer rolls. Both flavors of Banh Mi tasted quite similar, but were yummy overall!

Not convinced - Edit
First off: the location and calm atmosphere are indeed very nice. Staff was friendly, too.
Read moreBut: food is not really worth the price. I had the (quite expensive) BBQ banh mi because tempeh was sold out. The bread tasted like dry paper, the fillings were barely fresh. Not horrible, but definitely among the worse banh mi I had in Vietnam.
I would have liked to sit longer and enjoy the atmosphere, but their drink selection didn't convince me, either. Very little coffee selection and far too expensive for what is offered.

Cute place - Edit
It is located in the small alley. The waitresses were very kind and they spoke good english. You have to read the menu from Qr-code but it’s good in my opinion. We ordered bun cha and some flat dumplings. I liked bun cha very much, it had fresh vegetables and good noodles in it. The dumplings were quite strange and they noticed everything wasn’t ok with them. They apologized and gave us free tofu summer rolls which was nice. We tasted their own-made kombucha and also coffee. All were good.

Mixed review - Edit
It was off to a bad start for me as the menu is only available via QR code. Have a paper based one for us old folk! I actually wanted to leave but my wife didn’t so we stayed of course!
Read moreI found a certain irony in my banh mi being served inside a bag on my plate. The bag telling me to go green and save the environment. I can think of one easy place to start. Then my spring rolls arrived. They were greasy and unappealing and there was only 3 while the menu pic clearly has 4. A 2* from me.

Meldrew over and onto my wife’s food which she loved. If you like a lot of greenery then her food was presented really well. The plate of green stuff with the bun cha Hanoi looked good for those who like it! And the raw spring rolls looked much more appetising than my fried ones. 5* from her.
I love Bons but will be sticking to the street side one on Ham Nghi and the one in district 10 where I prefer the food and ambience at both of those.

Beautiful vegan place - Edit
The best spring rolls in Ho Chi Minh City for now! A bit hard to find, so remember that the entrance is from the street Ham Nghi.

Nice staff, good food - Edit
Was a bit too early to try their Bahn Mi so I had some dumplings with coffee instead. Food is nice, staff is kind. More on the expensive side.
