Tasty, hot!

We ate there last night. Food is tasty, and very original, not your usual Indian fare. Beverages are excellent. Just a warning though: what they call “normal spice” is quite hot, probably five or six on a scale of 10. most people probably should go for mild.

Great commitment to serving vegans

I really meant to take photos of our food, but alas, we ate too quickly. Still, I wanted to heave support and excitement on Bombay to Burgh. I emailed them a few months ago asking about vegan options, and they sent me a super detailed reply telling me they could make the majority of the menu vegan.

We finally went this week and were not disappointed! The menu is different from a typical Indian place in that they have fewer entrees, but the entrees are a little different from the classic dishes you might order. The menu explicitly says that every entree can be made vegan. (In fact, our waiter said, "You tell us what you want, and we'll make it," implying they'll customize most anything.) We had the mushroom masala made vegan (perhaps was already vegan?) and ordered the house special made vegan, which I figured would be a typical gravy with vegetables. But a few minutes after we ordered our waiter came back and said "Do you want the house special with tofu?" Um, yes! (I'm so excited they have tofu. Next time, I want to try a traditional paneer dish made with tofu!)

Both entrees were fantastic, and a little something different. The naan can also be made vegan.

Also, the atmosphere is really cute and the people are super nice.

10/10, great experience, recommended!

Pros: excellent food, fun, fancy-ish atmophere, free rice cracker snacks
