Minimally vegan-friendly, but uses some fresh produce - Edit
It takes a bit of extra effort to get a vegan meal here at this quirky outpost, but you might find it worthwhile for the fresh air and the locally grown produce (which they say is "chemical-free").
Read moreWe made the trip out here on the assumption that surely an ecologically and socially conscious farm would have at least a few plant-based options in its restaurant (which has “veggies” in its name), so we were a bit surprised to find the menu was a little more about animals than plants. When we asked our servers which of the items on the menu were vegan or could be made without eggs, dairy, etc., they didn't know, and they referred us to the cashier. The cashier didn't know either, and asked another person behind the counter who didn't know, and finally they brought the head cook out (which we appreciated), and what followed will be familiar to some of our fellow vegans.
Us: "Hi, could you please tell us which items on the menu are vegan?"
Him (friendly but a bit rushed): "Forget the menu. I'll make something for you. Don't worry, we have a lot of vegans around here. But tell me, what do you mean by 'vegan,' because there are so many variations of vegan."
Us (trying to keep it simple since he didn't seem to have time/interest to listen): "So, no eggs, no dairy, no honey, nothing from animals."
Him: "OK, I'll make something for you and if it's wrong I'll take it back."
We tried to clarify further but he was already moving on, so we thanked him and went to sit down.
When he arrived at our table with trays in hand, he said, "I hope soybeans are OK" and repeated his comment about "so many variations of vegan,” saying he found it confusing.
Us: "Actually, 'vegan' just means nothing that comes from animals."
Him [still rushed]: "But some vegans say they eat eggs, and some don't eat anything so I tell them, 'Here's a banana. Enjoy.'"
😑
We made a gentle attempt to clarify but it was clear he wasn't really listening, so we thanked him and enjoyed what turned out to be a pretty standard south Indian thali — which thankfully did indeed appear to be made from plants. It was tasty enough, and we were grateful to the chef for accommodating us.
After the meal we had a nice walk through the extensive gardens.
Overall, it was fine, and worth a visit if you happen to be in the area, though we can't really say it's worth making a special trip all the way across the island (especially not for vegans).

Pros: some farm-fresh produce
Cons: serves meat, they aren't clear about what vegan means

Kampong farm environment - Edit
With few vegetarian options and 1 vegan option, the farm environment is definitely worthwhile for the visit
