Nice Indian food - Edit
We arrived in the area quite late, so was happy to find this place on the app. We ordered a take away and it was lovely. Nice and quick service too and very affordable.

Reliable - Edit
After first discovering Bollywood in 2009 we visit every time in Armacao and always find it great value and friendly. The food can be excellent, it's always a great start to the holiday especially if arriving late. I usually go for the chick pea massala which isn't too hot. I like the authentic copper dishes in which the food is served to keep warm on hot plates. Just tell them you are vegan and they are happy to sort you out.

tasty food, Service offers Potential - Edit
I had a Mix Balti (in a silver "bucket") and ordered expressively without Seafood which means out of four options, one would expect lamb and chicken in it. It came with chicken and prawns. Really tasty, but not as planned. The waiter talked and asked very, very quick we recognized as being pushy. Until we had a look at the Drink's menu, we've been asked for our choice a couple of time. Maybe us germans are just not used to that. The same with the food order. There is plenty of options for everyone side dish and we'd cherished a little help or suggestion.

Summarizing: fair quality, but feeling welcome is something different.
Pros: fair quality, many options to choose from
Cons: Service Action

Bolly Good Show - Edit
We've been going to Bollywood for years. Since 2009 anyway. It was always the first port of call for a good vegan meal when arriving in Armacao de Pera. Now it's been added to Happy Cow (not by me incidentally) I thought it would be appropriate to provide a review. The staff have always been friendly and can make pretty much any of their curries as meat free. We usually go for a mushroom dhansak, a chick pea dhaal or a vegetable madras as a main course and Bombay potatoes as a side dish. They are served in traditional copper pots heated over tea light burners. Be aware all of the vegetable side dishes are actually as big as main courses and make sure you ask for any vegetable curry to be prepared without paneer cheese if having as vegan. I've always found the food at Bollywood to be excellent. The only issue is the location next to a tacky tourist shop and the slightly dated interior. We usually sit outside anyway which is generally pleasant enough. For around €30 you'll get pickles and popadoms, 2 mains, a side dish, rice for two, a large bottle of water and a bottle of wine. I call that a bargain, but maybe not the best I ever had.
