Serves meat, vegan options available. Indian restaurant with an extensive vegetarian menu which can be made vegan on request. Open Mon-Sun 17:30-23:30.
I was staying in the area on a business trip and fancied an alternative to the hotel restaurant on my second night. I had spied this place while out for a walk and knowing Indian restaurants are usually decent for vegetarian food I checked it out online and saw they had separate vegetarian sections on their menu for both starters and main courses and decided to give it a go.
Being in a suburban setting I wasn't entirely sure what to expect inside but it was pretty nice. Not entirely to my taste but I liked what they had done with the pictures of Bollywood stars on the wall and this is a linen napkin sort of place. There is a bar in the reception area then what is a fairly substantial restaurant is broken up by having some of the tables on a raised area so it totally avoids that cavernous dining hall feeling you get about some places.
I enjoyed the garlic mushroom puri to start, then followed it up with tarka dal and a side portion of aloo jeera (cumin potatoes) and roti. All the vegetarian main courses are available as mains or side portions. Despite having a large appetite and having been to the gym beforehand I was fairly well stuffed.
My final comment is that all the staff who served me were efficient and really friendly.
Oh - and the menu says that the vegetarian dishes can be made vegan or lactose free.
