Crunchy fresh salad - Edit
Stopped for a coffee and a had a small Krunchy Brocoli salad which was fresh. It was a nice simple lunch. There are a variety of clearly labelled vegan options both in meals, cakes, and salads. Cute place and nice to sit outside.

Loved it - Edit
Nice, friendly, the Brewster was so kind, and we loved our vegan meal. I had the soup and my friend had the vegan brocoli salad. She had a caramel cake and I had vegan hot chocolate. Forgot to take pictures of the meal. We were too hungry.

Goodness energy for me!!! - Edit
I feel so refueled it is incredible. The goodness energy breakfast will tickle your taste buds with edamame and delight you with beetroot. Enough to power you all the way to Wellington!

Fantastic soup and service! - Edit
Absolutely delicious cauliflower and broccoli soup with sourdough bread and dairy free butter! I had planned on going back for one of the vegan cakes but the soup was so lovely and filling I didn’t feel the need. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back on our next visit to Taupo!

Not bad but not great - Edit
They have a handful of vegan options if you can navigate the busy blackboard menus, but the meals weren't very filling or good value for money. Nothing was unpleasant but it didn't make me want to go back for more. Staff were friendly and service was fast though.

1 cabinet option, poor menu options - Edit
The only cabinet option was a bounty bar (booooriiiingg), and the menu options were porridge, salad & a breakfast thing for $19. Not really worth stopping here imo. However, good to see that the vegan options are very clearly labelled.

The best lemon-passionfruit tart - Edit
We have never been big fans of lemon cakes, but this lemon-passionfruit tart was absolutely awesome! The Bodyfuel Cafe offers more vegan/raw desserts and also plant-based milks.

Vegan options BUT BE CAREFUL - Edit
Okay, brace for a rant. So I understand that many restaurants are trying to figure out vegan food and I'm SO appreciative of the effort and stumbling that goes along with that. However, it's really frustrating when has food that is labeled on their menu as "vegan" and then isn't vegan.
Read moreWe got some delicious breakfast at BodyFuel in Taupo (which was much needed after our 6 hour trek through Mt Doom pictures on our travel page @forgoodnessseyks ). I was giddy like a child as I picked out a couple of meals for us that were marked "vegan". I even specified and asked that the side salad would be vegan.
We got the breakfast raw energy salad and the bean, pumpkin breakfast pie. Both labeled vegan.
When the "pie" came it had a sauce that looked suspiciously creamy. THANK GOODNESS I asked before trying it, and when I did ask they told me it has sour cream in it. That's not vegan. We had to send it back.
So grateful that they're trying to offer vegan options, and there are many, but please be sure to double or triple check before eating anything! The woman we ordered from was kind and helpful.
