最近吃過

如果裝修返新一下,又或者可以做次深層清潔包括冷氣係統。

Pros: 品質味道不錯

Cons: 裝修略舊,冷氣有些陳霉味

Friendly, Helpful, Tasty, Cheap😄

Bo Kwong is a very rustic, local Chinese Buddhist restaurant - not much English is spoken.
I go here almost every school day for lunch as I teach at a school nearby. The staff are very friendly and willing to help, so too are the customers :)

I have eaten here at least 50 times. The lunch deal is $40 + $4 (tea) + 10% and you get a soup (which is always vegan... yes even the coconut soup!), rice and one of two dishes of the day (normally one of them is vegan). Alternatively you can order off the menu (one of the regulars at Bo Kwong, Mr Lo, translated the all Chinese menu to English, there is one copy behind the front desk, next to the main door), I would recommend the rice dishes as they are large mostly vegan, and only $39 - just avoid eggs and mock meats.

Mr Lo translated the menu as a kind deed to me, other westerners and to help the restaurant, he doesn’t work there, but he eats there everyday. To help vegans order there he has included the following labels on the dishes: egg, milk, fake meat.

If a dish has the egg or milk label, then of course it is not vegan (the only exception is the curry with rice dish, which has milk in it, but this can be omitted upon request). However, there are a couple dishes that contain eggs/milk, but have not been labelled, so it is best to always double check before ordering.

If a dish is labelled as containing fake meat then it will contain fake meat (however, again, there are a couple of dishes that do contain fake meat but have not been labelled as such). This is important to note as some of the fake meat contains milk and/or egg products but they are not 100% certain which ones. Therefore if you are a vegan, it is safest to avoid fake meat also. They have told me that they will show me the ingredients lists for all the fake meats eventually - and when they do so I will update on here. As of yet, the only fake meats that are definitely vegan are the ones which are literally just tofu - ie sometimes in the lunch deal they offer ‘duck’ which is tofu and seaweed (very tasty!), on the menu, there is a ‘chicken with rice and ginger’ dish ($40) which is just tofu, they have assured me that these ‘fake meats’ are ONLY tofu and are vegan.

Finally, I want to say that the head chef and owner is a strict Bhuddist vegetarian. He and his team are VERY friendly and welcoming, they do not fully understand veganism yet, but give it time. They cook tasty and affordable food... they also give their food to the homeless 3x /month.

Pros: Vegan options available, Tasty inexpensive food, Friendly staff and patrons

Cons: Uncertainty of vegan mock meats

Really cute place full of friendly old ladies. Not much English is spoken but they have a full English menu. The food is great, the portions are big and prices are low. Super recommend!

Very Good!

I have come twice for dinner, the first time I ordered from the set options. I was with a Cantonese speaker so it was all easy to go through. The second time I visited on my own I tried to order from the set options but unfortunately were sold out. I just explained in English what I would like to order. I was lucky, there was a lady who could speak very good English and helped me order a meal. I asked from the lady to order a meal with rice, vegetables and tofu. The meal had a few mushrooms, slices of zucchini, carrots, tofu and Chinese vegetables.

Pros: friendly and kind staff, English speaking staff (not always), Great value for money, large set portions

Bo Kwong Vegetarian, Hong Kong

I had a great time here today. I rocked up and was invited to take a seat. I produced my little book which contains an explanation of what to include / exclude to cook vegan. the waitress didn't understand. At this point a ripple went round the restaurant which I quickly suspected was people talking about me and trying to rustle someone up in the clientele who spoke English. I was correct and sure enough 2 slightly nervous girls smiling as they stepped forward came over to help me. They took a look at my little book, explained it to the waitress and then made some suggestions of dishes to me from the menu. I plumped for a mixed veg dish which was very pleasant and decent value at $56. As final grace on how people were in this restaurant, one of the girls came past when she was leaving and gave me a piece of paper with some Chinese writing on it. She explained that this was the name of the dish in case I wanted to have it again somewhere.

Pros: Nice people
