Tasty Breakfast - Edit
We had a lovely breakfast at Bluegrass Grill. My vegetarian husband and son had an omelet and the biscuits & gravy. There is no meat in the gravy which was a nice surprise. My vegan choice was the Tofu Hash with a side of fresh fruit. Lots of nice veggies in the hash.

Great little breakfast spot - Edit
This was our first food stop immediately after arriving in Chattanooga and we weren't disappointed. Friendly staff, cozy spot, and very filling portions. The tofu hash and cilantro tofu hash were very tasty! Will definitely try again on our next trip here.

Brunch O’clock - Edit
I was pleasantly surprised by this little joint. Met up with a friend here who is vegetarian and expected there to be abysmal vegan options, but there were great options and I definitely left satisfied. I got the Tofu Hash, which I found to be flavorful. The atmosphere was fun. They are a very popular place so it was luck that we got a seat so quickly. I would definitely go back again when visiting Chattanooga.

So willing - Edit
The family at bluegrass grill along with their amazing sous chef Rebecca are able to make the most obscure vegan dishes by request, but do prefer using a menu item as an outline. They source fresh fruits and vegetables every day, so quality is never something to worry about at bluegrass. Also, they cook everything in olive oil, bacon in the oven, and other meats on pans- so people don’t need to worry about cross contamination. The most important thing that makes bluegrass an excellent restaurant for a vegan to visit while in Chattanooga is how conscious everyone from the server to the prep cook is of the importance of caring for individuals’ specific needs through the entire process of service. At peak times, there usually can be a brief wait; it will last just a couple of minutes- the restaurant turns fast. It is worth it, maybe start considering your veggie creation from the menu on the door while you watch the employees move around the little place with a smile, keeping it running as smoothly and as perfectly as an atomic clock.
Read morePros: Make their dishes adapt to your diet, Not creative like that, they have options for you , Olive oil, not butter
Cons: Beautiful cinnamon roll made with eggs, Don’t have separate veggie menu or menu section , Can’t be 5 stars because not totally veg

Disappointing vegan breakfast/friendly staff - Edit
Lack of flavor and extremely oily. We had the cilantro lime tofu hash. Unfortunately the restaurant was a bit run down. Menus were torn, stained and really dirty. The staff was super nice. They immediately greeted us and gave our kiddos a basket of toys.

Vegan friendly cozy breakfast spot - Edit
A little hard with the waiting list being first come first serve at this spot but I believe its worth the wait. Cute, cozy cafe, friendly servers with fun bluegrass music playing in the background. Love the tofu hash, really great flavors! And they have fantastic vegan avocado fudge coming soon permanently on the menu 😁

...just expect a bit of a line/wait, as the place is small. But hey - their tofu scramble is delicious and totally justifies the wait, as does their friendly service. Love it.

Breakfast Dream - Edit
Their tofu hash was the best scramble I have had a restaurant in years. Fresh dill and other spices plus the best cooked home fried potatoes made the dish rich and filling. Loved that they open early on weekdays and the family and staff are super friend. We chatted about community gardens where they grown their basil.

So-so - Edit
I heard that they had great vegan options. When I was in that area I decided to try their food. It was a Saturday morning and it was very busy. I was in a hurry and ordered a to-go. It took them a long time for the cookers to make my dish. The employees were somewhat frantic which I can understand with so many people waiting for their food. I had tofu scrambled with spinach and other vegetables. I hoped that my food would taste amazing but unfortunately it tasted plain and soggy. The food could have been better. Might come back on a different day when it is not so busy.

Always Perfect & Amazing food! - Edit
This is by far my favorite restaurant in Chattanooga. It is Owned & operated by the nicest family & the food is 100% awesome. Plenty of choices for vegetarian and vegan in a fantastic atmosphere. My favorite dish so far is the cilantro lime tofu hash(v). Any dish with there fresh herb cream cheese involved is delicious. The coffee here is great & soymilk is available. I also highly recommend the black bean chilli. There vegan pumpkin muffins are so good. They have the most substantial wholesome biscuits. The list just goes on & on.
