Great vegan options, super nice staff - Edit
We have had breakfast at Blue Sky Cafe and liked the vegan options very much. The waiter was super nice and gave us some great hiking tips in the area.

Nice food - Edit
I have eaten here in the past and enjoyed both the food & the vibe. Often they are mega busy and there's a warning there'll be a wait for food. Today they didn't seem busy but we waited a long time for our meals to arrive.
Read moreI ordered the bibimbap made vegan and my friend ordered the smokey burger (one of three plant based burgers available) with a side of chips. We waited a long time for our meals, without any comment/apology from the waitress. When the food arrived my bibimbap had a fried egg on top.
My friend tucked into his burger and chips while I waited for my veganised bibimbap to arrive. Thankfully he'd only eaten half of his meal before mine arrived. By his account the burger was nice, although the chips were a little greasy. My meal was nice too however if I'm honest it looked better than it tasted.
I've got to admit I was a little disappointed as today wasn't up to previous visits. Usually the food is delicious.
The cafe itself is quite attractive with art by local artists hung on the walls. There's a ground floor sitting area which welcomes dogs, which requires using a couple of shallow steps. The main sitting area is only accessible via a full flight of stairs. So, not good for those with mobility issues.

Delicious Food, Dynamic Independent Cafe! - Edit
Blue Sky Cafe is a fantastic cafe based on Bangor High Street. The cafe is accessed through a signposted alleyway, which is tastefully decocorated in bright graffiti style art. The cafe has two floors with the ground floor also functioning as a taproom during the evenings and serves a variety of interesting drinks. Blue Sky also hosts events in the evening, ranging from live music to poetry nights.
Read moreI went in for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I had the Buddah Bowl with a side of small Salt and Pepper Chips, both of which were incredibly delicious and generous in portion. The salad was well seasoned and fresh, and the falafel was the best I have ever had at a cafe that serves meat. I had an Iced Coffee with Oat Milk to go with my meal, which was also very good, but they do charge extra for non dairy milks. There are many vegan options on their lunch menu, and their breakfast menu also had cooked vegan options (served until 11:30), but I did not see any vegan cakes in their cakes display.
The atmosphere in Blue Sky is great. The staff are welcoming, and Welsh language service is available . The upstairs floor is brightly lit up by a sky light and is full of plants and artworks for sale. The cafe also stocks many products from local vendors and has a section of drinks such as Iced Tea and Pink Lemonade made in-house. I highly recommend Blue Sky Cafe to vegans looking for freshly prepared food in a comfortable and contemporary space. Booking is highly recommended as the cafe is popular among students and locals, and information about events can be found on their social media.
Pros: Incredible Food, Vegan Options Clearly Labelled, Great Space, Good Vegan Options, Well Stocked Bar and Hot Drinks
Cons: No Vegan Cakes on Display

Brilliant food! - Edit
Food was some of the best vegan food we’ve had. The burgers are simply amazing and the deserts are lovely. A beautiful building and very friendly staff. Shame it doesn’t sell food in the evenings too as we would’ve been back!

Wow - Edit
Blue sky is a favourite between my friends and me and clearly within the public, as often it's packed and we're unable to grab a seat, as they only seat approximately 40 or so people.
Read moreAlthough this isn't a vegan restaurant, they offer a huge range of vegan foods and drinks, truly embracing free from options, including gluten free.
Staff are extremely friendly and prices are not cheap but most certainly not expensive.

One of the best cafes in Bangor. - Edit
Blue Sky is a beautiful cafe with a lovely atmosphere. They have plenty of vegan and veggie options, and are more than willing to alter dishes. Soy milk is available, some beers/wines are vegan (ask to check which ones) and they sometimes have vegan cake!
Read moreI would highly recommend both the tofu ciabatta and Thai burger, in addition to the heavenly banana and walnut loaf (though they don't always have it)!
Pros: Great vegan options, brilliant service
Cons: Can sometimes be uncomfortably busy/you have to wa, there are some meat-heavy menu items
