Old fashioned vegetarian place - Edit
Sweet little place, lots of quirky ornaments, feels like you're almost in someone's home, with the serving and cooking all being dome by one person.
Read moreWe were surprised how much of the menu wasn't suitable for vegans, especially things like falafel! Tried both vegan mains and the vegan dessert. Found the food a bit bland bit ot was nice to eat somewhere in lanzarote that didn't do meat at least.

Wonderful evening ambience. - Edit
Managed to park on the street just after the restaurant. Walked up to it and saw a welcoming glow from all the flickering candles. The music was at a lovely volume for chatting to each other, and the choice of music was very chilled. Loved it in here.

I love beetroot and after a lunch of burger and chips I opted for the healthy red salad for my evening meal. B had the tabbouleh. Lovely fresh, tasty food. We shared the vegan choc tart😄
Friendly hosting by Tracey, great chat about Scotland and vegan eateries. Hope to pop in again before the holiday is over.

Fantastic meal and service - Edit
Had a lovely meal here tonight with our 2 year old. Tracey the owner was beyond lovely! There was really clear choices on the menu for vegans. She was kind enough to make some fries for our little boy even though they are not on the menu. For starters we had humous with pittas and falafel which was the best I have ever had (which says a lot as I’m not its biggest fan usually!). For mains we had a satay curry and a chilli - both were very good. Dessert was a chocolate torte - absolutely yummy! Such a wonderful little place - highly recommend!

The owner Tracey was so lovely and friendly and we really enjoyed our meal. Saganaki fried cheese with honey to start and then veggie madras curry and a veggie satay curry. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful Lanzarote Find - Edit
This is a charming little place with a lot of variety on their menu and a proprietor that is really warm and welcoming. The restaurant itself is very peaceful, colorful, and inviting, and I only wish that I had chosen to dine in instead of getting something to go! But what I did get was very, very tasty and had a lot of flavor, so I will definitely go back!

Blooming Cactus - Edit
A wonderfully cosy restaurant with a welcoming and homey feel. The menu is mostly vegetarian with plenty of vegan options or substitutions. I had the falafel, hummus and pittas, my husband had the vegetarian moussaka, and we shared the red salad. Very fresh, very yummy. Absolutely delightful owner as well. We loved it here.

A dinner in family - Edit
We loved this place, the food is delicious, the atmosphere cozy and familiar, and the owner is a lovely lady that will do anything to make you feel at home. We had the hummus with pita bread, the red salad, the vegan moussaka, and the dark chocolate tart with lime. Everything was SO good but the chocolate tart was out of this world. Will come back again this week we're here for sure. Super suggested!

Superb vegan meal - Edit
Highly recommend the Blooming Cactus for vegans and vegetarians, in fact anyone who enjoys good food. The vegan moussaka was the most authentic I've tried outside of Greece, and the plant based chocolate cake was rich and delicious. One of the best meals I've had since I first came to the island in 2017, just wish I'd visited sooner!

Welcoming staff and lovely atmosphere. Best ever falafel. When booking its worth mentioning if you're vegan as the chef made vegan moussaka and kofta. All the food delicious. Definitely recommend a visit.

Best falafel I have ever had - Edit
This cosy vegetarian restaurant with an amazing chef who cooks everything by herself. I had a lot of falafel in my life but blooming Cactus has the best ones so far. The humus and Tzatziki are also a blast. Wish I could have had the time to eat all the options on the menu since the musaka and the curry were outstanding. I will be back the next time I'm in Lanzarote for sure a big recommendation

Had the satay veg curry. It was really tasty! Definitely get this.
Read moreMy partner had the chilli which was okay - very spicy and the mince used was not great. It looked like a huge blob of mess with kidney beans.
The chocolate dessert was nice.
Huge respect to the owner who was on her own, hosting, waitering, and cooking for multiple tables. We expected a much longer wait, but it was all fine and couldn’t fault the service.
Pros: Chocolate dessert was nice, Lovely host, Large portions
Cons: Limited vegan options, Presentation of food

Amazing veg find in Lanzerote - Edit
Blooming cactus was a godsend as many other restaurants in Puerto Del Carmen and further afield were closed down. The restaurant is so quaint and cosy. The staff was so friendly and sweet, it made the whole experience that much nicer. We went two days in a row, getting the chilli sin carne, veggie burger, and vegetable satay. We got chocolate tart for dessert both days which was insanely tasty. The food was very good and clearly labelled vegan or gluten free when applicable. 10/10 would recommend.

Lovely atmosphere, food & host - Edit
Blooming Cactus is a charming restaurant on a quiet street. The decoration and lighting immeditately made us feel welcome and at home. Tracey is wonderful. The food is packed full of flavour. We had falafel, red salad, chilli sin carne, vegetable satay and our non vegan friends had Moussaka (has cheese). Very rich vegan chocolate cake! Our only regret is that we didn't have time to come back a second time.

Tasty, home made vegan food - Edit
Most of the dishes are vegan or can be veganized (eg the incredibly friendly staff made a moussaka with vegan cheese especially for us). We tried almost everything on the menu over the course of the week and enjoyed it all. The restaurant is lovely, great music, armosphere, staff and food. Take away food is cheaper than eating in.

The Best Vegetarian & Vegan Restaurant on the Island - Edit
This is essentially a lovely vegetarian restaurant with excellent and unusual vegan options. We had for starters the Falafel and the Rosti, followed by the Moussaka and Vegetable Satay for mains, and for dessert the day’s special, the Chocolate with lime tart/cake. All tasted delicious, and really unusual. Excellent service too. Good pricing and a nice ambiance.
