Used to be great - Edit
They were once a fantastic place to take our vegan family, but have gone downhill. No more vegan specials. The last two times we ate there it was terrible.

Few options but delicious food - Edit
Block 16’s vegan options are limited, but what they have is delicious. I got the poutine burrito and poutine fries (good thing I liked how they make theirs). The food was extremely filling and I ended up taking home leftovers, so lucky for me I get to eat it two days in a row.

Lots of Vegan Options. Certain Items Better Portion Size than Others. - Edit
I got the Sloppy Nick-Good Size but not on the Jalapeno Cornbread or with Cheeze like the Menu said. The Dragon Wrap portion size was very small for $8.50 and had 3 fries and 3 small pieces of Tempeh. The Poutine Fries were small and were without cheeze. The Elote Fries were a bigger portion but didnt have cheese on them. It was a celebration weekend so needless to say I'm disappointed.

Fantastic vegan options - Edit
Block 16 has some really great vegan options- my personal favorite is the sloppy nick. They also have a burger and a poutine burrito that I've tried, both which are good as well. Pretty affordable as well, around $8 for a meal if I'm remembering correctly. Worth a try if you're ever in town!

Great prices - Edit
We love making the drive from Lincoln to Omaha just for Block 16’s vegan Block burger with peanut butter and barbecue sauce (you have to specify that you want the peanut butter version of the vegan block burger) and the vegan dragon fries. We’re always surprised at how small the bill is—the burger is only about $6. Vegan options are denoted with a green leaf icon on the menu.
Read moreMy only critique is that their website is not very user-friendly. Prices are not listed on their online menu. There is a “we are open” icon displayed during open hours, and we made the drive on the 4th of July only to find that they were closed, despite their website stating that they were open. There’s an “order online” tab, but when clicked, it says “online ordering coming soon”. It’s been that way for months. You still need to call the restaurant to place an advance order.
Pros: Vegan items clearly marked , Lots of vegan options , Inexpensive
Cons: They don’t always answer the phone

Good, but not for kids - Edit
I had the vegan sloppy joe and my husband had the dragon wrap with seitan. The dragon wrap was very good, and the sloppy joe wasn’t my personal favorite but I’m not upset I tried it. We brought our 3 year old daughter, and although she tried our food she wasn’t really a fan. No kids menu at all and no kid friendly seating. The only spot that was left for us on a Saturday evening at 6pm was a two person table. We waited in line for about 20 minutes before ordering. I’d come back to try the other vegan options, but without my daughter.

Cons: Not very kid friendly , Smaller place, runs out of seating when busy

Disappointing - Edit
I have heard GREAT things about Block 16 and was eager to try it. The burger I had wasn’t necessarily bad, but it wasn’t as great as I had heard. The fries were extremely salty as well. Overall I was disappointed in the amount and quality of the food served, and would not recommend this place.

Yummmm - Edit
I once had their vegan philly and LOVED it. Every time I’ve been back they haven’t had it again. Their veggie burger is pretty good. Their fries are awesome. When I was just vegetarian I had the grilled cheese and couldn’t finish it. Too greasy, not enough flavor.

Cons: Not a fan of the illustration of pig “sections”, Not serving my fav dish anymore, Grilled cheese is not good

Hip little joint with lots of vegan options! - Edit
Wonderfully hip little joint with lots of sandwiches that can be made into a vegan version. Couldn’t decide...sloppy nick, poutine burrito, block burger...I went with dragon wrap with seitan and dragon fries! Hell. YEAH. 👍🏽💪🏽🌱😋🤤👊🏽

Bad service/mediocre food - Edit
Guy who took our order was short with is and clearly annoyed we asked any questions about the vegan menu (which is incorporated to the main menu on the board and and hard to navigate).
Read moreI got the house salad. It was boring and something I could have made at home, with the lights off. The Setain was burnt.
My man ordered the peanut butter burger and liked it but liked the fries better.
All in all, this place would be ok if it was the only place in town. However, it's not and we won't be back.

Service and food excellent - Edit
Last night my hubby and I were passing through Omaha, Block 16 came up vegetarian friendly so we popped in. I am not only vegetarian but need to follow a GF diet. Although their menu does not cater to GF vegetarians their staff do. They were willing to jump through many hoops to accommodate me and did so with a smile. In the end my made up dish was delicious and my husband's made like it's supposed to be sandwhich was fantastic- I'd go back based on the integrity and kindness of their staff!

I love the vegan Shawarma. Isa Chandra Moskowitz taught them how to make their seitan and it shows. It's so moist and flavorful!
