Don’t go there for the wine! - Edit
We were really surprised when the waiter told us that they had only two references for red wine, despite the restaurant’s name. We choosed a Pinot noir, which was poured cold. The waiter said it was intentional, but we think that the wine was just bad and serving it cold was a way to mask its taste. We later had a glass of white, not good either.
Read moreThe food was ok, but not something I would pay 17€ for. We choosed the plate with a selection of tapas by the chef.
For dessert, we had the vegan coconut cheesecake with berries. The “cheese” had the texture of cold coconut oil, so not creamy at all and pretty bland.
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Expensive for what it is, Bad wines

Nice & cosy! - Edit
Nice & cosy place in a quiet street in the center of Antwerp. Kind owner (who also serves everyone), menu changes often and dishes are served until they are sold out, which means not much food ends up in the garbage. Recommended to check this out when visiting Antwerp.

Tapas, lekker bereid - Edit
Keuze uit een aanbod hapjes, al doet dat woord de kleine gerechtjes alle oneer aan. Eenvoudig, maar heel lekker klaargemaakt. Originele chocoladetaart met vleugje cayenne peper.

Really Nice but not extraordinary - Edit
Went there with a friend for a glass of wine and some small dishes. The food was good but not that special. We had bread and hummus, garlic mushrooms, a mini quiche and some spicy seitan (since they ran out of tofu). They had also ran out of cauliflower. Sadly don't try the desserts.

Very tasty food and a sweet order system! - Edit
We were surprised in a positive way of having no menu to order from but to choose between two main dishes of the day. It comes with a soup and a piece of cake if you order the full menu for 27€, which might seem a little expensive but is definitely worth it. :) We just had the soup (cauliflower) and a main dish (tempeh-eggplant-towers with red rice, sprouts, cashew sauce and baked parsnip), which were both really enjoyable. Would definitely come back again! :)

The perfect evening - Edit
Where should I start? I still can't decide what was the best part... the red tempranillo house wine... the warm and comfy atmosphere... all the welcoming scents in the air... the delicious fulfilling meal... or the mind-blowing cheesecake... I really needed a night out and this just made it perfect.

Yummy homemade food! But hurry up! - Edit
Nowadays the lunch menu consists of:
Read more- Soup + Bread (6€)
- Quiche + Salad (7€)
- Soup + Quiche + Dessert (15€)
The soup changes daily, and when we visited there were three types of quiches to choose from. There were also a few cakes on display.
The celeriac soup was delicious and the quiches we tried (celeriac, tomato) were also yummy.
Everything had a nice homemade feeling.
The place is cute and the service was also friendly and quick.
I think they are planning to close in the near future, so if you're around, pay them a visit before it's too late. :)
I'd certainly come back if I'm in Antwerpen again and they are still there.
Pros: good value, friendly staff, location
Cons: closing soon!

Three-course vegan luncheon for 15 euros - Edit
My husband and I enjoyed a delicious soup of the day (mushroom), our choice of three tasty quiches (celeriac, red bell peppers with tomatoes, or mushroom) each with a lovely side salad, and a selection of desserts, including a scrumptious chocolate cake.

Absolutely delicious! - Edit
What a lovely place! The food was absolutely wonderful. We ordered the 15,- lunch menu which included a very yummy mushroom soup (with bread), a lovely quiche with salad and an absolutely scrumptious cake for dessert. The staff was very friendly and the place itself has a lovely, homey feel to it. Next time I'm in Antwerp I will definitely visit again!!

No choosing stress - Edit
I have been here several times and also introduced this cosy restaurant with a lot of my friends. I don't mind that they only serve 2 different main dishes each day, as it is always something different and the food is every time delicious.
Read moreIn my opinion sometimes it might be more flavoured, to add more to the taste of the vegetables, it seems like the cook is afraid to use spices and herbs.
Most of the times me and my husband are still a little bit hungry, even after taking the 3 course menu. As vegans, we are used to eat a lot.
Pros: Very cosy and nice atmosphere, only 2 choices each day, so no choosing stress, Decent vegan food
Cons: For us small portions, It could be spiced up a bit more

Great place for veg*ns and omni's - Edit
I've visited Bites and Wines on several occasions. The food isn't always on the same level or as innovative, but generally speaking it's a good place to eat. I've also visited with omni friends who were impressed by the food.

Realy great - Edit
If you're vegan or vegetarian you simply can't miss this place on your trip to Antwerp. A bit more on the pricey side but totally worth it in my opinion. Menu changes every day so you're in for a surprise. The atmosphere is very cosy. We didn't make reservations but came quite early so they found us a seat, staff is really friendly. Starters and desert are around 7 euros, main dish around 16.

Not bad - Edit
Advertised as closing at 9 and they mean it - made a reservation online for 9 thinking it must have been last orders, but they rang me to ask if I could come half hour earlier... Problem with the system they said (still isn't fixed). Anyway, arrived earlier than planned, no big deal. Food was OK and fairly healthy, a little more seitan on my plate wouldn't have gone a miss and didn't bother with dessert as we felt we were overstaying our welcome after the longish wait for food.

fantastic! - Edit
So delicious! I dined here with a non-vegetarian friend and we were both amazed. We had sparkling wine with a subtle touch of lavender and a raspberry at the bottom, spicy pumpkin soup and one each of the two dishes of the day: tender seitan (the best we had ever had) with roasted asparagus, marinated mushrooms and an amazing tomato-parsley-garlic sauce, and baked zucchini with a kind of ricotta inside plus crispy baked potato pieces, herbed turnip and an herb yogurt sauce. Then chocolate walnut buckwheat cake and lavender cheesecake. Simply divine! The ambiance was very warm and cozy, and the staff was friendly and helpful (and spoke great English).

wonderful vegan food - Edit
We ate here for dinner on the last day of a three day stay in Antwerp. Although their food options are limited to a small handful of items written on a signboard, it was easily the best food we had in Antwerp. So delicious and so good! Be sure to try their deserts as well which were heavenly.
Read moreThe owner, who was also our server, deserves a mention as well as she spoke perfect English and was charming to talk to.
The restaurant is located only a short walk away from the city center (Grote Markt). Our only regret was that we couldn't have eaten here more often. They have slightly limited hours so be sure to check before heading over here.

best vegan food in Antwerp - Edit
Had a great lunch here, in my hometown. The taste of the food was really good (and I have high standards). Had a soup and a main dish. For me as a vegan it was all excellent. Beautifully presented as well. My friend (meat-eater) had a soup and a piece of cake. The cake was delicious , I tried a bite as well. Will definitely come back. Some people would find it a bit expensive, but in my opinion it isn't. It's fresh prepared, with ingredients of good quality. So everyone who (really) cooks, should agree it's worth the money. And the owner is very friendly.
