Too notch - Edit
One of my favorite places in Copenhagen. Food is always extremely tasty and fresh. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. The place is warm and cosy, they have a nice selection of vegan wines and drinks as well. I have been here 3 times and never left disappointed. If you haven't tried Bistro Lupa you definitely have to go. I will absolutely visit again sometime.

Incredible - Edit
Visited in February 2023. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. I booked this as a treat for myself as I’ve never had the opportunity to experience a vegan tasting menu before. The restaurant is pricey but so worth it. I loved the concept of sustainability and using locally-grown and seasonal ingredients. The lovely waiting staff talked us through each dish as it came out and there were dishes I really enjoyed that I never would’ve ordered if it wasn’t a tasting menu. Highly recommend this experience to any vegan or non-vegan food lover.

Forgettable - Edit
Hailed as a "fine dining" experience, yet they proudly present us with "vegan fried chicken" as a signature dish. Intriguing choice 🤔. While there were some fleeting moments of palatable pleasure – a nod to the cinnamon cap mushrooms and summer salad – the majority of the menu danced gracefully between average and forgettable. Special shout-out to the eggplant main that came adorned with "crunchy quinoa", a peculiar choice which kind of felt like I was at a construction site, nibbling on some gourmet gravel.
Read moreThe ambiance is casual and lively but tables are crammed so tightly you're practically invited into your neighbor's conversation, whether you like it or not.

The real deal - Edit
They grow their own mushrooms; they forage for food, save elements of previous dishes for their next zero waste conscious menu and choose their compositions for local sustainable sourcing practices.
Read moreAdd to that a delightful five course prefixe with drink pairing options, alcoholic and nonalcoholic, and you’ve got a fine dining experience that tastes as good as it feels.
Table conversation raved that the arrival smell of each dish was just as divine as the tasting experience to follow. Eat with all five senses here.
Pros: Such intentional practices, Full sensory experience, Rotating five course menu
Cons: None!

If only there were more than 5*s to give. - Edit
We wanted to go to their michelin star sister restaurant. However, we didn't quite have the budget, so instead, we booked the 3 course tasting menu at Lupa. We also opted for the wine pairing - this is a must do.
Read moreWeirdly, we were the only people in there. But I don't know why?!?! The food was incredible. We added an extra course of mushrooms, too.
Each dish was explained in detail & why the wine was paired with it. And every dish was better than the last. The dessert was phenomenal. Highly recommend!

Star worthy dining experience - Edit
Bistro Lupa offers an incredibly tasty 5 servings experience (where you actually eat 7 different dishes spread over 4 courses).
Read moreThe staff was so wonderful and enthusiastic about the food they served us. They carefully explained every single dish to us, and also told us all about the non-alcoholic drinks that were paired with the dish.
The presentation of the dishes was absolutely incredible. I've never seen food look so tasty, and it absolutely surpassed all my expectations once I started eating it. I can't explain how good the food tastes, you should 100% experience it yourself.
Make sure to order the Lupa Fried Mushrooms as well! Mouthwatering fried oyster mushrooms with homemade ketchup that had the perfect balance between crunchy and juicy.
We dined there on the 10th of June (hence my title), two days before it received a Green Michelin Star! Can't be more happy for the team that they were awarded with this.
Pros: Incredibly tasty, Fresh & homemade, Lovely atmosphere

World class vegan food - Edit
I can't rave enough about this place. We had an outstanding five course meal with nonalcoholic drinks pairing. Right from the outset, the staff were friendly and enthusiastic about the food and drinks they were serving. And with good reason because every course was bursting with fresh unexpected seasonal flavors, including an incredible white asparagus salad with a coffee based dressing. The real surprise was the non-alc drinks pairing, which included a crazy good ginger mule with vegan kefir and a wine made from cherries and pu'er tea. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. All in all a great night out.

Pros: Madens udseende, Madens smag
Cons: For små portioner, Mad brændt på, Meget dyrt

Interesting full experience - Edit
I have visited Bistro Lupa twice now and have gotten the 5 course experience both times. Enough food to feel full.
Read moreFood is good, but expensive as this restaurant want to sell a high-end dining experience, although they succeed in some aspects the interior drags the high-end experience down as some of the benches are broken, and my DIY eye spotted quite a few cheap and badly made interior design choices.
Overall I have been happy with the food, it is seasonal and some things are foraged, therefore the menu is subject to changes. The course menu offer different flavours and directions, most of them great but some dishes, however, feels a bit out of place, like when they had a no-potato gnocchi on the menu.
Desserts are superb tasting and pretty. I strongly recommend their battered oister mushrooms from their own mushroom farm as an add-on if you get the 3 or 5 course experience.
Do not get the faux wine cocktail (alcohol free), in my opinion it does not taste good, very tart and sweet in a discount-mulled wine type of way.
A good experience for a special occasion.

I came to this place with very high expecations based on previous reviews and what I read about. The food is really nice and it's clear the effort and quality in making food. I was expecting more in terms of taste and "originality".

Always spectacular - Edit
We have been to Lupa for essentially every birthday, celebration or for no reason just to light up the day.
Read moreThe price is reasonable considering all the thought and love that goes into the food. Rried blue oyster mushroom with homemade barbecue sauce is always a must!
We have brought carnivores that were thrilled with everything.
The only tiles where it hasnt been to our liking it has been due to personal preference (like my strong hate for eggplant)
everything is cooked to perfection, and if you have any remarks - the lovely staff will happily listen, arrange, fix and adapt.

We loved this, every dish was tasty and just the right size. I don't like mushrooms and they brought a creamy risotto which was the best I've ever had. Attentive staff, really nice atmosphere, definitely worth it when in Copenhagen

Fine dining that can convert omnivores - Edit
This was the best meal we had in Copenhagen and one of the most special vegan fine dining experiences.
Read moreAs colleagues here indicated, this place even was greatly appreciated by hunters/meat-eaters.
Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant was totally full on Saturday night, luckily we reserved some days in advance.
We had the 5 courses and added the house special, mushroom dish to share. Every single course was pleasing to the eye and very tasty. Ingredients are original and they make sure to not waste anything by using the leftover vegan cheese to make ricotta for example.
1. Pumpkin with salad and mustard seeds
2. Umami soup with celeriac and bay leave
3. Beet in 3 ways with ricotta and flat bread
4. Very creamy mushroom risotto
5. Pana Cotta with blood orange
Only the mushroom dish we didn't find that special.
Make sure to reserve a spot and keep in mind that you have a limited timeslot and they will kindly ask you to leave. #Veganuary

Bistro with a large B - Edit
Another restaurant in the Souls group (like Ark), formerly a Souls family restaurant recently re-opened in a Bistro style that demonstrates you can make plant-based food that is just.... great food. So many of the bits and pieces are made from scratch, combined in ways that just make you want to come back and try something else on the menu. Worth a trip.

One off experience - Edit
Had a wonderful experience at Bistro Lupa. The concept of having a fully vegan fine dining taster menu was too good to pass up. Although the price was expensive (about £53 a person), we were glad to have gone and experienced an excellent meal! The dishes were unique and the ambiance was relaxing (though we felt like our table was very close to the people next to us). One negative was that we were charged for our still (most likely) tap water. Be prepared to spend a lot of money here, but equally to have some excellent food.
