Ask for the vegan menu😋 - Edit
Although it was super busy and our waiter was not particularly friendly… I still give 4 stars for the quality of food, variety of vegan options and the rest of the staffs efforts.

Vegan Menu! - Edit
It is SOOO difficult to find decent vegan food in the Boston area. When we walked into this place the hostess asked if we wanted a regular or vegan menu. We could not believe it. Never have we been asked this question. So many great options. Great bar food, wonderful atmosphere, great people. Also, the bar looked like an awesome place to watch a game. Will definitely return.

Great food & service, but noisy - Edit
I loved the separate vegetarian menu, and the service was great, with the server even offering parking suggestions to my friends who hadn't arrived yet. But we were astonished at how NOISY the venue was! We were there 7 PM on a Wednesday, and the place was only half-full, yet despite sitting right across from each other, we were shouting to be heard. Why was it so loud??

Lots of veg options - great service - Edit
We happened to stumble upon this place and boy are we glad we did. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. Added bonus was they had a live band playing there on Friday night and they were really good. There were lots of vegetarian/vegan options on the menu. We ordered the veggie tacos, zucchini rancheros and sautéed mushrooms. The food was fresh, well prepared and beautifully presented. We're kicking ourselves that we didn't take pictures!

Delicious Mediterranean Bowl - Edit
I was really happy to see they had a special vegan/vegetarian menu. There are quite a few options including salads and bowls that you can add a protein to, including tofu.
Read moreThey also had cauliflower tacos, which sounded pretty good!
I really enjoyed the Mediterranean bowl. Order without feta to make it vegan

Excellent food - Edit
Service wasn't great- food came out randomly. I got my main course while someone at the table was still waiting for their appetizer...

5 stars but Happy Cow doesn’t allow for non vegan restaurants.
Read moreBistro 781 has a separate vegan menu with nice variety of options. They are also accommodating with non vegan options on menu.
3 in our party had different vegan meals: quinoa burger, Buddha bowl and stuffed squash. All were fresh, delicious and plentiful. My husband requested tofu to be added to his Buddha bowl and they did not hesitate to abide by the request.
Nice to have an upscale vegan restaurant option!
Cook shared their quinoa burger recipe.
Great service from our server Amy!!

Yummyyyy!! - Edit
I loved this place before I was vegan and still love it now that I am! They have a whole vegan menu with TONS of options including brunch! And everything can be made gluten free on the menu! I got the teriyaki cauliflower and the tofu sweet potato burrito and loved every single bite. My friend got the vegan coconut milk french toast and also loved it!

Good food but small portions - Edit
This place has a separate vegan/vegetarian menu with at least 8 different things on it. We got the Buddha bowl and the fried cauliflower tacos. They were both delicious but the portions were very small for the price. The atmosphere is not bad.

Bland food - Edit
The restaurant itself has a lively atmosphere, but I really did not enjoy the food I ordered.
Read moreI got the tofu scramble which comes with potatoes and dry bread. The potatoes were good, but the tofu scramble was not. The tofu was not cooked and the whole thing lacked any sort of spice/flavor.
Perhaps there are better options there, but I personally did not have a good first impression of this restaurant's ability to cook good vegan food.
Pros: Vegan options
Cons: Lacking flavor

Separate vegan menu - Edit
There is a separate vegan menu with so many options. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about what it means to be vegan and incredibly helpful. I had the cauliflower tacos which were delicious, and the server asked if I preferred agave instead of honey for the sauce. As another reviewer commented, the portion was small, but when accompanied with the sautéed vegetables made for a full meal. My friend ordered the teriyaki cauliflower as an app which was also delicious. My only con is the space is extremely loud and a suggestion would be to turn the music down at prime dinner hour.

Many vegan options - Edit
Ask for the vegan menu. The Buddha Bowl ($13) and Cauliflower Tacos ($14) were both delicious but the tacos were a very small portion—more like an appetizer—whereas the Buddha Bowl was a good size for lunch or dinner. Service is slow when they’re crowded, but the food is delicious so worth a wait.

They have a ton of great vegan options. Make sure you ask specific for the vegan/vegetarian menu, they have a separate one. I had the tofu poke and also the tofu sesame stir fry and both were excellent, looking forward to trying more.
