Refus discriminatoire de nous servir - Edit
Je ne pourrai pas juger de la qualité des plats car nous n'avons pas pu franchir la porte du restaurant. Notre réservation pour 5 personnes a été refusée sous prétexte que nous avons une enfant de 6 mois avec nous. En plus de n'être pas commerçant, c'est tout simplement discriminatoire et illégal. Passez votre chemin si vous avez des enfants, ils ne sont pas les bienvenus.

Hard place to review - the food was really good and staff so friendly and helpful, especially good at accomodating for vegans. The entrees (miso aubergine, and we asked for a custom vegan sushi roll: they made avocado onigiri) were só delicious. Also the wine we had was great. We were a little disappointed with the main dish: vegetable tempura. While the choice of veggies and preparation was well done, we didn’t feel like it was as good of a main dish as you’d have here if you ate meat or fish. It would be great to see them spend more attention to a nice vegan main with a little more umami and kick. So mostly our compliments for this amazing Japanese place in ‘a vegan desert’. But also hoping to see a better vegan menu.

Great Authentic Japanese Restaurant - Edit
Bissoh is an amazing authentic Japanese restaurant in Beaune. It’s a great place to taste real Japanese food, especially in a city with not a lot of vegan options.

Lovely authentic Japanese with a vegan menu, or at least some suggested vegan options. The lady understood our vegan requests immediately and the food was delicious. We lived in Japan so we should know.

Unfortunately no desserts as they all had milk.
Then again they were operating with just the 4 outside tables because of covid.
Also: I doubt there are many other vegan options in the area so we were grateful to find this gem.

I am going to try this! Have heard so many positive experiences from friends about this place. You are right that it is so hard to find vegetarian let alone vegan options in and around Beaune! I personally like La Cantine (de l’imprimerie) a lot, just outside the city center.

Finding this gem prompted my first ever review.🙂Vegan options can be harder to find in France so a separate vegan menu is a happy discovery! Great to sit back and enjoy the progression of courses. My partner ordered from the omni set menu and we could enjoy together. Friendly service and attention to detail. We are both in the wine biz so we were delighted with the wine list but options for all. If you want a lovely meal and discussing Vegan options in French is not your forte then you will love Bissoh.
