I work for La Comida MTL on saturdays (a meal prep company) who rents a space in the basement of Biotope, and last saturday July 8th 2018 upon arriving at work at 7:35 am i was greeted by the owners dog who was set up on a leash right near the entrance of the store. Now first of all, I find it highly unsanitary that there is ALWAYS dogs running around the store where there is ORGANIC food production taking place but anyways, his dog proceeded to grab my broken but healed arm and peirce through the skin while shaking my hand back and forth. The owner of Biotope stood by idly while this was happening and just watched his dog do this to me all while im adamantly saying "ow ow ow" until i finally get out of the grasp of the dog on my own...... No word from the owner until i get downstairs to my job to clock in. His wife then proceeds to inform me that theyre dog does this sometimes and that he is just playing. #1 if you KNOW your dog is playful but aggressive... Do NOT have him outside of the entrance to the store where there are kids and customers who come to buy your stuff!
That is not even the biggest problem i have with this place unfortunately because, after this occured i made a complaint to the health food administration about the dog (not to harm the dog whatsoever but to have them call the owner and suggest removing the dog from the premise during work hours to avoid this situation from happening again or to someone else which IS WITHIN MY LEGAL RIGHTS) the owner obviously got a call about this afterwards and figured out it was me who had called the administration.... So he then decided the best course of action to take was to call my employer (la comida mtl) and cuss me out (how unprofessional) and deny me access moving forward into the basement that my employer PAYS for every month where the food production takes place... Needless to say the LANDLORD not my BOSS had me fired because i can no longer enter the building where i work every saturday to make a living....all because he is upset his dog BIT ME.... This is absolutely ridiculous and ILLEGAL to do... And he is not going to get away with this
