Excellent food !

I love it!

I love this restaurant! The waitress is really friendly and tells you in detail which dishes are vegan. Furthermore, she suggests how you can change a dish in order to make it perfect for you personal taste! The food itself is also awesome and varied! Moreover, the atmosphere and the interior are cosy and great!

Pros: Great food , Friendly staff, Nice atmosphere and interior

Bio-Gasthaus Sonne: worth the detour!

The Bio-Gasthaus Sonne in tiny Simmersfeld, Germany, is well worth the detour from Stuttgart or Baden-Baden for all vegetarians and vegans. Monika and Robert have been developing exceptional vegetarian (mostly vegan) dishes for 30 years, and it shows. Somewhat surprisingly for its rural location in a non-touristy town, the restaurant is always busy yet Monika manages to run everything smoothly. We stayed for 3 days in April, ate well, drank well (organic German wheat beer!), and generally had a great time. Monika speaks english well, and can give you maps for long walks and hikes right from Simmersfeld into the Black Forest. Wonderbar!

Pros: Excellent food/drink, Great value, Great location

Creative gourmet cuisine in the black forest

The least thing you would expect in this small remote village deep in the black forest is an organic all vegetarian restaurant. It looks like a typical rural restaurant where you usually would only get meat. But step in and you'll find a nicely decorated small restaurant with totally relaxed atmosphere.
The owners are long-time vegetarians, having travelled the world they serve a creative vegetarian cuisine with gourmet touch. The menu changes regularly (depending on the season and its products) and offers not too many but enough choices of delicious starters, soups, main dishes and desserts. Everything is prepared fresh, it's organic, and fairtrade or regional - and absolutely delicious!
MUST: try their out of this world vegan chocolate mousse. You won't stop eating! Promised!
The owners run the restaurant completely on their own, yet they manage to artistically coordinate everything right on time and just in sequence. :o)
And if you can't (or don't want to) leave anymore, just stay overnight in one of their rooms, as they also offer some accommodation for guests who want to enjoy fantastic vegetarian dishes and the nature of the black forest.

Pros: level of cuisine, atmosphere, good value for money

Cons: remote location
