Make this your first stop in San Antonio - Edit
Close to the airport and super tasty, Binge Kitchen satisfied this Southern girl’s desires. Seasonings were spot on! Staff was friendly and the food was excellent. I had the Smothered Chick’n and gravy with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and yams—a classic combo. Not to be missed!

This place is tucked away, in a busy area, but do yourself a favor, and go... It's 100% worthwhile! The idea even, of vegan soul food, is reason enough to try it. Especially, if you used to eat the normal dishes, before going vegan later in life, like me... Then, when you actually taste the food, you'll wonder what kind of sorcery they have working, lol, because of the execution! My folks and I had "ox" tail entree, smothered chick'n, and cheezeburger sliders. Oh, and delicious milkshakes, too... The main dishes were excellent, but the sides were what really amazed us. Coleslaw, potato salad, southern style cabbage, were so authentic, down to having "meat" in the cabbage, like you'd find in the traditional preparation... It's the fine details like this, and the "membrane" around the ox tail, that make all the difference. They have absolutely nailed the concept, and I highly recommend any vegan in SA give this place a try!😊

So we had a bad experience the first time we went to Binge Kitchen. Everything was really salty and I couldn't finish my food. But I really wanted to give them another chance because they have such good reviews and are black owned and hello Vegan Soul Food. So we went back and everything except for the Mac n cheese was delicious. So I'm guessing it depends on who's in the kitchen that day. I reccomend if your really craving some soul food and suggest the green beans and sweet potatoes for a side. Their appetizers were great both times.

Read moreIt’s comfort food veganized. We’ve had a lot of vegan fried pickles where it’s super greasy but Binge Kitchen’s version isn’t that way. The flavor is amazing and pickles are crispy, not undercooked or over cooked, it cooked perfectly!
We both ordered the BBQ Chickn Sliders, and enjoyed that as well. The “chicken” is crispy and consistent all the way through—not mushy nor hard, just perfectly prepared. The BBQ sauce is good but could be a bit spicier, but I also like it just as it is. Also on the sliders is coleslaw, which is also tasty but I would’ve loved some on the side to accompany the sliders. It comes with potatoes which are fried and breaded, also tasty.
The staff were super friendly and answered all our questions, and the restaurant has a family run business vibe. Definitely worth a visit and trips back.

The staff is so sweet and the food is priced amazingly for everything you get. They definitely don’t skimp on serving size!
My husband isn’t vegan and said the chicken is the closest tasting vegan chicken he has had to real chicken. The mac and cheese is so good which can be a hit or miss at most places. The mashed potatoes were so fluffy and buttery tasting. The beans were okay and the broccoli could be cooked a tad bit longer in my opinion.
Sweet tea is sweeeeeet just like I like it!
Don’t skip this place in San Antonio!!

Best Food in a Long Time - Edit
Delicious "home" cooking (except so much better than home) I've had in a very long time. I absolutely loved the fried okra, fried mushrooms, mashed potatoes and gravy, peanut butter cookies, and lemonade. Go. You won't regret it... unless you're trying to be super, uber healthy. I didn't even look to see if they have those options.

Read moreFirst thing- All the menu boards are gone. If you want to see a menu you have to get online and look.
Second- With the tip I ordered $53 worth of food for myself and my hubby, and I was charged $1 each for a cup of tap water. They even charge fifty cents if you want ketchup to go with your food.
Third- This time the food tasted like it had no salt and a LOT of pepper. I asked for salt and was told they didn’t have any for guest use. Really?
Fourth- As we were nearing the end of our meal my husband found what appeared to be a pubic hair in his rice. Ughhhh!!!
Sadly, since this establishment has gone to scrounging every penny they can get and don’t care about the guest experience, they’ve lost this customer. What a shame!

Tons of incredible options food wise, but I am a sucker for vegan cookies and have been dying to find some soft ones since I can’t eat hard foods with my braces. Their peanut butter cookies were everything I could have ever hope for and more. They are baked to order so they are hot and fresh and melt in your mouth. HIGHLY recommend ❤️

So good!! I can’t speak highly enough of this place!! I got the vegan fried chicken (from mushrooms) and the seasoning was ON POINT! So tasty. Potato wedges were delicious, chilli cheese wedges were delicious, Mac and cheese was yum, and my boyfriend loved his sandwich!

We put in a pickup order for these guys on their website today and then headed over to get our orders. They're doing curbside pickup. Delicious food and vegan too! It's nice to have some southern comfort food that is also vegan! I really liked their mac and cheese and their mashed potatoes and gravy. Their chicken is also very convincing. I almost wondered if it was vegan or not!

The best vegan southern food I ever had! - Edit
Would of loved to sit down and eat but because of Covid we can only order out. The food was absolutely amazing! We ordered the smothered chicken it was so good it almost brought tears to my eyes! I wanted to go inside the kitchen and hug the chef that's how good it was! As for the service the lady who took my order was so nice she treated me like Family instead of a customer. If I can give this place 100 stars I would. My Wife and I travel around the country alot and have tried lots of different vegan places this by far is one of the best!

Binge Kitchen is the missing link for vegans in San Antonio! I use to live here and I recently moved to Austin, but when I come into town I love to support new vegan restaurants. Binge Kitchen didn't come up on my "vegan San Antonio" search, but after digging around the whole car drive down from Austin, I stumbled upon a photo of delicious-looking "chicken drumsticks and mac and cheese". When I called to check if they were open during the pandemic they told me to just give them time in advance and informed me of their contactless pick up policy. All of the signs pointed to this is an amazing business and they are taking all precautions which definitely makes me want to support this place.
Read moreOur order consisted of the orange chick'n rice bowl, corn dogs, seasoned smoked drumsticks, and the southern fried chick'n with mac and cheese, bbq beans, and broccoli. Holy basil! This food was impeccable and you have to stop what you are doing and place an order right away. The whole meal was cooked perfectly and the amount of flavor in each bite will make your toes curl or eyes roll. I even made sounds while eating this food and I never do that- it's worth bring your non-vegan friends to try out and to start alerting your family members to make this a priority if they want to eat an amazing meal. They even have a breakfast croissant option so you can literally start and end your day with this brilliant restaurant.
I can't wait to drive into San Antonio again and to call this order in at least 45 mins ahead of time since this is a small business. I will never stop supporting you guys and I will tell the world about this gem. Thank you for choosing San Antonio as your first step of opening your restaurant since the community already had Tacos, Thai, American foods, and pastries. However, they lacked a real southern home-cooked meal to perfection. Binge Kitchen you have officially filled that gap and made a huge impact on my taste palette. I don't care if it's too soon to say this, but "I love you guys". Can't wait until next time- also, you gotta add a tip section on the online orders. I really wanted to tip you guys! Until I come back into the city, thank you for existing and wow your food is beyond special! I have so much respect for good food and you guys have won over my support, I will happily advocate and spread the word about Binge Kitchen.
