New mostly Chinese menu with new Chinese chef - Edit
This is one of the few vegan places in UB that is doing something a bit different. The new menu is Chinese and is really delicious and authentic. It reminds me of actually being in China. The mapo tofu is my favourite. It's spicy and cooked to perfection. Everything else I tried was great as well

Lovely place - Edit
We had lunch at Luna Blanca and it was really nice. We tried different Mongolian dishes, like a soup with spinach and mini-dumplings, a salad with chickpeas and potatoes and different dumplings with dip. For dessert we had a excellent cheesecake. We paid 41.000 T which is around 14€ inkl. a all you can drink Pot of Jasmin tea for us.

Had the Mongolian plate of dumplings and khuushuur (like empanadas) for lunch; HUGE portions. I thought I wouldn’t finish it but it was waaay to delicious that I ate it all. I also had their vegan cookies; YUM!

will return ☺️ - Edit
I’ve been to Luna Blanca twice already and it was delicious every time.
Read moreFirst time I had the Mongolian combo and a carrot salad. Both very tasty, but the Mongolian combo can be shared between two people. The dumplings are mostly filled with soy mock meat, I’d prefer more veggies.
The second time I had the Goulash and the spinach salad. Both was amazing, highly recommend!
Try the sea buckthorn juice! The ginger tea can be ordered without sugar, but I don’t think they use fresh ginger, it has hardly any taste.
Pros: cozy, fair prices, big portions

Delicious Vegan Mongolian Cuisine - Edit
I had the Mongol Combo Plate which was delicious but huge! I would recommend sharing this dish between two... I also had a choco banana smoothie which was tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was very warm inside (in summer), but the venue was otherwise nice.

Great food for great value. They use a lot of faux meat, so good for people who like that. And don’t forget to order the Luna Blanca chocolate cake (warm!!).

Bring a friend, or come starving - Edit
Texas sized portions. Even the green salad is dinner sized. Tsuivan is so, so good. And if you have never had sea buckthorn juice, you really must. My only regret is that I have no room for a piece of that amazing chocolate cake the ladies at the next table over are eating.

Fantastic vegan food - Edit
What a fantastic little restaurant, after weeks of trying to find something vegan in Russia coming to Ulaanbaatar is such a relief given the large number of vegan restaurants however Luna Blanca is something special. The restaurant is on the ground floor of a Buddhist temple and that vibe seeps through.
Read moreThe food is exceptional, a good use of mock-meats to recreate local cuisine as well as other regional dishes. They also have a stunning chocolate cake and all of this for a very reasonable price. If you only eat in one place in Ulaanbaatar you won't go wrong here, however if you don't eat here you will have truly missed out.
Pros: Flavour, Staff, Atmosphere
Cons: Very popular ;-)
