New mostly Chinese menu with new Chinese chef

This is one of the few vegan places in UB that is doing something a bit different. The new menu is Chinese and is really delicious and authentic. It reminds me of actually being in China. The mapo tofu is my favourite. It's spicy and cooked to perfection. Everything else I tried was great as well

Pros: New Chinese menu, Unique in UB, Delicious

Lovely place

We had lunch at Luna Blanca and it was really nice. We tried different Mongolian dishes, like a soup with spinach and mini-dumplings, a salad with chickpeas and potatoes and different dumplings with dip. For dessert we had a excellent cheesecake. We paid 41.000 T which is around 14€ inkl. a all you can drink Pot of Jasmin tea for us.
It was very cozy and easy to find. The stuff was nice at spoke English. They also have an English menu.

Pros: Cozy, Taste good, Nice stuff

Delish!

Had the Mongolian plate of dumplings and khuushuur (like empanadas) for lunch; HUGE portions. I thought I wouldn’t finish it but it was waaay to delicious that I ate it all. I also had their vegan cookies; YUM!

will return ☺️

I’ve been to Luna Blanca twice already and it was delicious every time.
First time I had the Mongolian combo and a carrot salad. Both very tasty, but the Mongolian combo can be shared between two people. The dumplings are mostly filled with soy mock meat, I’d prefer more veggies.
The second time I had the Goulash and the spinach salad. Both was amazing, highly recommend!
Try the sea buckthorn juice! The ginger tea can be ordered without sugar, but I don’t think they use fresh ginger, it has hardly any taste.

Pros: cozy, fair prices, big portions

Delicious Vegan Mongolian Cuisine

I had the Mongol Combo Plate which was delicious but huge! I would recommend sharing this dish between two... I also had a choco banana smoothie which was tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was very warm inside (in summer), but the venue was otherwise nice.

Amazing Food

I have lived in UB for 6 years, but 1st year 2019 as a potential Vegan. I am so happy to find this restaurant, especially as you can order through Songo Food Delivery! I look forward to working my way through the menu in 2019!!

Great

Great food for great value. They use a lot of faux meat, so good for people who like that. And don’t forget to order the Luna Blanca chocolate cake (warm!!).

Pros: All vegan, Big portions

Great place

The place is great and has some variety. Like most places in UB, some ingredients/dishes are unavailable from time to time however. Top 3 in UB. You can also buy health food items (milk, faux meats etc)

Pros: All vegan

Bring a friend, or come starving

Texas sized portions. Even the green salad is dinner sized. Tsuivan is so, so good. And if you have never had sea buckthorn juice, you really must. My only regret is that I have no room for a piece of that amazing chocolate cake the ladies at the next table over are eating.

Pros: Enormous portion sizes, Super tasty food, Great selection of non-alcoholic drinks

Cons: Order drinks first or they will forget to bring, None

one of the oldest vegan places in Ulaanbaatar

Menu is precise but very versatile.

I have visited this place multiple times, and have had Sichuan Tofu, Power lunch and Flour power and banana smoothie with nutty butter.

Very close to Loving Hut as well.

Highly recommended

worth a try!

I have been here two times while in UB and I thought the food was a bit tasteless. There is a lot of choices though, friendly staff and nice ambiance. Big bummer is that there is no wifi...

Fantastic vegan food

What a fantastic little restaurant, after weeks of trying to find something vegan in Russia coming to Ulaanbaatar is such a relief given the large number of vegan restaurants however Luna Blanca is something special. The restaurant is on the ground floor of a Buddhist temple and that vibe seeps through.
The food is exceptional, a good use of mock-meats to recreate local cuisine as well as other regional dishes. They also have a stunning chocolate cake and all of this for a very reasonable price. If you only eat in one place in Ulaanbaatar you won't go wrong here, however if you don't eat here you will have truly missed out.

Pros: Flavour, Staff, Atmosphere

Cons: Very popular ;-)

Amazing food, also for non-vegans!

Beautiful, super yummy food! We first went because of good reviews on Tripadvisor and even my absolutely non-vegan (or even vegetarian) husband enjoyed it so much, HE suggested we go back a second time during our brief stay in the city.
Second time was just as good as the first. Highly recommended!

Nice all vegan restaurant

Nice buddhist restaurant with wide selection of dishes from all over the world. They have Malaysian, Italian, Russian, Mongolian and other cuisines.
They also make (and sell bought) cakes and desserts. Usually don´t have all that are on the menu. Try also hot soy chocolate or coffee.
As a Buddhist place, they do not serve alcohol, but you can get non-alcoholic beer if you want.

Pros: delicious all vegan menu, Very easy to find (huge sign and stupa), Good English spoken

Cons: crowded over lunchtime, pretty hot and not well air filtered

If I was leaving in Oulan-Bator, I would often go there

I enjoyed so much their food, tasty and good.
I went couple of times, I ordered a combo, a soup and a kiwi cake which was awesome and more (but I don't rememeber).
Staff speak English which make things much easier.

Pros: food, tasty, friendly staff who speak English

Cons: atmosphere

Delicious!

I got the Mongolia combo plate which comes with two different types of dumplings with vegan mayo and a salsa dipping sauce. I also ordered a side of kimchi which was spicy and perfect. The seabuckthorn juice is refreshing and interesting. I also ordered the chocolate cream cake which was massive and super rich! The service is great and the staff speaks great English.

On my second visit I ordered the Mi Favorita which where soy pieces served with rice and veggies in a sweet and spicy tamarind sauce that was incredible.

Pros: everything

Cons: No wifi

Unbelievable

I had the sampler platter, so I could try some traditional Mongolian foods, and it was unbelievable.

Service, quality, and taste were all delicious. I wish I had eaten here more times.

The chocolate cake for dessert is also AMAZING.

Prices aren't bad, either.

Pros: All vegan, Delicious, Friendly
