Lacklustre 90s sadborgers - Edit
We’ve come a long way with vegan burgers in the last decade but Big Wheel didn’t seem to get the memo. They are serving some seriously tasteless burgers, lacking salt, flavourful condiments, decent buns.
Read moreWe got both the vegan options. The Nashville one was at least a little spicy while the black bean and yam patty tasted like nothing and was deep fried to hold together. Both the bun tops were burnt black. The Cajun fries were the only redeeming thing. We were warned by the cashier they were spicy and they are absolutely not, Victoria is just very white. Lol.
I won’t jump out of my seat to go back. Given all the beef they serve, it’s hard to take their climate and sustainability claims seriously when both burgers felt like something you’d be served as a vegetarian in the late 90s. If you’re really dedicated to addressing the climate crisis, make your plant based options the best ones on the menu.

Big Wheel is fabulous because they have more than one option for vegan/vegetarian burgers. Their black bean & yam burger is fabulously vegan, and now they’ve got the Beyond Meat?? So fantastic.
