Suburban staple for creative Korean-inspired bowls

Been coming here for years and finally reviewing. Took my mom here since she likes the different flavors compared to other options in the area. We both got BYO vegan bowls. Their noodles and sauce specifically are super tasty and the employees are always generous with the veggie toppings. Their drinks are great too, and free refills are the way to my heart. ❤️

A great spot for a quick lunch or casual dinner especially if eating with omnivores around the burbs.

Japchae Bowl!

This is one of my favorites! They have a meatless Monday discount and everything is clearly labeled for vegans. I typically order the japchae with tofu and so many great toppings that my bowl is a rainbow of veggies. So good!

Great quick food

Good spot to stop if you have an omni with you. Everything is very clearly marked and the pudding is also vegan and delicious. Definitely recommend.

Many vegan options. Super fresh ingredients used

Ordered a tofu bowl, with beans, cucumber, corn, kale, potatoes and, purple rice with teriyaki Also got a side of strawberry and pineapple. All the fruit and veggies were super fresh and tasted awesome. If you look on their site, they have nutritional info with Vegan ingredients marked clearly.

Pros: Vegan options , Fresh produce used , Purple rice option (good protein source)

Love this concept and free miso soup

I had a bowl of cauli rice, greens, kale, carrot, mushroom, moochae. With gochu sauce on top. All excellent. Just the right portion size and a free miso soup on the side. I would choose this over chipotle any day!

Pros: Free soup, The tea was sugar water, Moochae

AMAZING

I had the japchae noodles with tofu, carrots, corn, kale, and black beans. I also had the Sesame Ginger and Teriyaki sauces which were both delicious. I’ve never had kimchi before, and it was alright. I’m kind of picky so that’s probably why. It was delicious and I would totally eat it again.

Love it.. (2019 update)

Yes, we love it from the week they opened.
Yes, the atmosphere is great - brings back memories from Asia. And yes, as a regular place in Japan the miso soup is not vegetarian.
They have done a great job of having the list of ingredients available, so check with it.
UPDATE (Jan.2019): A few months ago they made sure the miso soup has no fish in it!

Pros: Designing your own Asian-ish dish in English, Reasonable prices (incl. the drinks)., Asian feel - from food

Great vegan options

Four stars because only vegan places get five. But other than that, the menu is very clearly labeled as vegan or not. I like to get the Japchae noodles with every vegan topping (including V kimchi, which is rare) plus free miso soup! Also lots of good sauces. Highly recommend if you're near Woodfield.

Pros: Mostly vegan toppings, Free miso soup, Vegan kimchi

Cons: Serves meat

Love this place!

Beautiful fresh veggies and sauces. I can’t believe I just discovered this place. I had a great, substantial bowl with noodles, tofu and veggies. It was a full meal and complete healthy.

Pros: Very fresh, vegan options, Try as many sauces as you like, Reasonably priced

Cons: Wish there was a sign on the miso soup not vegan

Fresh healthy food

This place is great, you build your own bowl (think chipotle) and can add all the veggies and sauces you want. Your base for the bowl is rice, potatoes, or noodles. I recommend not doing the noodles because they are pretty light. The kimchi and most sauces are vegan. If you re unsure about the sauce you want they have them all available on the floor and you can fill up a small cup with whatever sauce you'd like. Everything is clearly labeled and the purple rice is very filling. They also have nutritional information sheets readily available behind the counter.

Pros: lots of vegan options, natural pops and teas

Cons: miso soup contains fish, very busy during lunch - may not get a table
