I actually walked past a place serving currywurst and thought, I remember trying that years ago but it's meat so I won't touch it, shame as it is. Then I came onto Marktplatz and stumbled on this van. It was a bona fide deus ex machina. Anyway I had a currywurst and it was spot on. He asked if I wanted it spicy, which of course I did, and I think the German idea of "more spice" is "greater quantity of mild spice" rather than "equal amount of hotter spice" because it was like ketchup with curry powder on top. I said no to chips ("pommes") and yes to bread. It cost €4 which is a little bit steep but if you rarely have it you don't mind so much. Staff were very down to earth and spoke enough English to compensate for my frankly emaciated German. Recommended for tourists.

Good food on great location - Edit
Even now that eating vegan becomes easier and easier in bigger cities, it's still not always easy to find a vegan place nearby. This food truck has a perfect location in Bonn. The food is great too, we had a falafel wrap and a burger. We paid less than 10 euro's in total - an amazing deal for a filling meal in a totally vegan place in the center of the city.

Die Biobude auf dem Bonner Wochenmarkt ist ein rein veganer Imbiss. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und gehen gerne auf Sonderwünsche ein. Man findet hier Klassiker wie Currywurst mit Pommes, aber auch leichtere Snacks wie Falafel-Wraps.

They offer a variety of vegan street food like falafel wrap/burger/sandwich or other dishes based on seitan. I really enjoyed the falafel wrap and the stuff was super friendly. The location at the "Marktplatz" is nice.

We had the gyros, a falafel wrap, and the sweet potato fried. Everything was totally fine, but not really exceptional. The falafel balls were fairly tough and not very aromatic. The gyros had a nice mouth feeling, was very strongly seasoned (thyme?), maybe a bit salty, but again, nothing extraordinary. Fries were of course fine. People nice.

On a day trip to Bonn, went straight for this as my first lunch choice and was not disappointed. Food was amazing and staff very friendly, spoke English. Price v reasonable too; less than 5 euros for a falafel cheese burger. Definitely try this place!

A couple of weeks ago I stopped by the foodtruck and ordered fries and a falafel- burger.
Read moreThe non-peeled fries were amazing and I've been informed that they were made from regional potatoes -> big extra like!
The falafel- patty was delicious: soft, juicy and really well seasoned :)
Mayonnaise was self-made and was equally amazing!
The owner is very, very friendly.
Only thing was, that I disliked the burger bread: it is way too crumbly and also very strong in taste, so it kind of covers the falafel taste.
I'll definately go again and try the sausage!
