Best Reuben Ever! - Edit
Their reuben was truly fantastic. From.the marbled rye to the loads of house-made seiten to the tasty kraut and creamy dressing. Their other food looked delicious as well, but I may never know as the reuben may be all I ever order!

Best Bagels and Sandwiches! - Edit
I have loved everything I have tried from Ben & Esther's! All the sandwiches are amazing and the bagels and schmears are top quality! I also enjoy buying their deli items like vegan egg salad, vegan tuna salad and vegan chicken salad to bring home for the week. The desserts and baked goods are also phenomenal. and the matzo ball soup!!! I recommend trying everything on the menu at least once!

Great! - Edit
We are from Brooklyn NY and came here and had the rza, the veggie, and latkes. Everything was delicious. The bagels are as close as you can get to to Brooklyn bagels without being in Brooklyn! No step to enter. Large single stall gender neutral ADA restroom.

Comfort Food - Edit
Super friendly staff, cute and comfortable dining room, amazing food just as it should be. Although this is clearly a local spot, they were super friendly to visitors, too. I love a vegan twist on a classic, but this food is just straight up classic. The matzo ball soup was the perfect thing for a rainy morning and the brisket sandwich was everything. Grabbed some bagels to go which made for the perfect breakfast the next day. Can't wait to return!

100% Vegan Restaurant! - Edit
I visited Ben & Esther's Vegan Jewish Deli twice over the weekend & was pleased with the food, service, & prices given the portions. I tried the New Yorker sandwich, the Egg, Cheese & Bacon filling on an onion bagel, a knish, potato salad, & egg salad. My favorite item was the onion bagel sandwich; however, I also quite liked the potato salad & the egg salad. I thought the New Yorker was just okay. I'd definitely like to try more of their deli case items & bagel sandwiches. I look forward to visiting again.

Great deli vibes - Edit
We got the LOX bagel (they actually know how to make bagels the way they should be!) and the Siegler Sammy (turkey twist on a Reuben) with sides of the egg salad and loaded baked potato salad - all 4 were amazing and the staff was very friendly, service prompt!

Nifty little Jewish deli - Edit
I was there between my shifts, and this one isn’t too far from where I work. I decided to try their Lox bagel since I loved the actual Lox bagel sandwich before I became vegan. Their bagel sandwich tasted just like the actual stuff except it’s a tad better! Who would thought that carrot would make a good substitute for the fish? I overlooked the fact they also serve Reuben sandwich, so I will have to come back for that. Definitely the deli to go to along the Alberta “Vegan-friendly” Street.

great "fast" food - Edit
still heartbroken that their Sandy blvd location isn't there anymore, it was so convenient and in a spot that desperately needs more vegan choices. Not on Alberta often but when I am, I always go here. Their bagel egg cheese and steak is to DIE FOR. great food on the go as you can order ahead of time

Banging breakfast - Edit
I wasn’t feeling so hot so I opted just for an everything bagel and schmear (scallion & bacon). This thing perked me right up! My husband had the sausage, egg and cheese on everything and was very happy. There’s a far bit of seating inside and I liked the bar seats facing out the windows for some morning people watching.

We were so sad we only had enough time in our trip for one visit. This satisfied the craving for delicious deli food. Loved their half-sours and the Lizzo. Highly recommend!

Bfast sandwiches 😍 - Edit
I was specifically looking for a decadent egg, sausage, and cheese bfast sandwich on an everything bagel and Ben & Esther’s not only had exactly that but a bunch of other creative sandwich options. SUPER TASTY and all vegan - what more could you ask for?! My partner had the Lizzie, which was also bomb.

They had a power outage last night so they had a pretty limited menu this morning. We weren’t able to get our favorites, but the sesame bagel with veggie schmear hit the spot. 👌 We picked up some veggie shmear to go.

Delicious - Edit
I tried the Lizzo sandwich, twice. I know I paid more for its association to Lizzo, but I couldn’t help myself. It was quite good; good enough that I ordered a second one to-go for that night’s dinner. I also ordered two cookies, which were sweet, and a little dry.

Definitely worth a visit! - Edit
I had been wanting to check out the Portland location before I left town.
Read moreI went to the one in San Diego and it was on point.
The Food was really good overall. I had a few small issues with a couple things here.
Got the vegan matzah ball soup. The matzah balls seemed a little chewy but still good.
The gluten free bagel seemed a little chewy / tough and not as good as over vegan gluten free bagels you could get elsewhere but overall it was really good.
