Awesome Healthier Falafel Alternative - Edit

A sign on the door when you walk in states: 100% vegan, which I don’t trust in Israel as many things labeled vegan are actually vegetarian, but in this case it seems true!

The concept of a waffle made out of a falafel is pretty cool. It enables the falafel to essentially bake instead of being fried. This lets them use a bit less oil. This puts a healthy spin on the traditional falafel, which is nice. They cut it open and put the salads inside the waffle. Three different sauces are served with the dish.

As for the taste, it’s low oil, so it isn’t super crunchy like most falafel, but I kind of prefer it because it makes eating the pocket sandwich a bit easier. It’s VERY messy, so don’t come here in your Shabbos best. It is, however (especially when smothered in the spicy and mango sauces) absolutely scrumptious, so I recommend it highly. Just recognize this is a healthier spin, so it won’t have exactly the same taste and texture as a fried falafel ball. Overall, I’ll be returning, so it’s a go from me!

Pros: Low oil, Hip atmosphere, Night staff spoke English

Cons: Messy, Pricey for falafel
