Lots of options, small portions - Edit
It’s refreshing to find a place with so many vegan options, pretty much everything on the menu is vegan or can be made so. The prices are also fair, and the food is tasty. However, the portion sizes are rather small. No sides are included with the main dishes and optional sides are also served in small portions.

great vegan breakfast (any time of day) - Edit
So rare to find vegan pancakes, crepes, smoothies, and tofu scrambles all in one place and at any time of day. All tasty and they have fantastic lunch too. I'm always torn on what to get so I just throw societal expectations to the wind and get a nacho appetizer before my pancake dinner!

It’s okay. Not the best. Bougie version of Riverwest Co-op but tastes worse.

Milwaukee's Finest - Edit
Milwaukee may not have an excessive amount of vegan options, but the ones that it does have pack a real punch. Beerline Cafe is the crown jewel of Milwaukee, and might be the best vegan/vegetarian place I've ever eaten at. It's the kind of place that I absolutely am going to if I'm passing through Milwaukee. Every single time. It's the kind of place that. I've tried almost the entire menu and loved every single bite. The space is fantastic. The food is ready extremely quickly for how good it is. And I could write for days about how good their cinnamon role pancakes are. They are arguably the best dish I've ever had.

The restaurant is absolutely adorable and everything is so delicious. My friend and I, who is not vegan, absolutely enjoyed everything. I had the breakfast crepes and she had the Mexican crepes. We also shared an order of the cinnamon roll pancakes and some coffee. Definitely recommend visiting! definitely recommend visiting!

Vegan crepes! - Edit
Everything I get here is good. No matter what I order, I also get a crepe Suzette (ask for it to be vegan) as a sweet treat.

Best nachos EVER - Edit
I had their vegan nachos today and they were quite possibly the BEST thing I’ve ever eaten! And I’ve eaten at tons of vegan restaurants across the Midwest. The nacho cheese was so yummy and didn’t taste vegan at all - and the beans and meat had tons of flavor. Very generous portion too. The small was huge! We were just visiting Milwaukee but I wish desperately that I lived there so I could eat at Beerline Cafe all the time!!!

We loved our breakfast at the Beerline Cafe. We were a group of vegans, vegetarian, and omni. All of us loved our food. We got the oatmeal, cinnamon roll pancakes, Mexican crepe, and hashbrown Benedict. Would order all again! I'm posting photos.

great crepes - Edit
I love this place! They make fantastic vegan crepes BUT MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR BOTH THE CREPE AND INGREDIENTS TO BE VEGAN (not sure why they do that but okay), and their vegan cheese is incredible. I love the savory crepes - the classic breakfast and the Mexican ones are my favorite. I also love the vegan nachos and jalepeno vegan cheese dip. It’s a cute little place, and very casual. Definitely a must-go for vegans and vegetarians in Milwaukee.

Great Food...Just Missing that Extra Little Something - Edit
I went to Beerline Cafe with my meat eating dad and he went for one of the breakfast burritos which he found extremely filling and had to take half of it home.
Read moreI went with a crepe with peanut butter inside and topped with bananas. Although the crepe was satisfactory, I was disappointed they didn't give syrup with it automatically (I didn't ask to see if they had any.} I think the crepe would have been even more tastier if the peanut butter had mixed into more of a glaze so you don't have stuck on the roof of your mouth situation.
The employee's were helpful and answered our questions as new customers. Since we went during the week, we pretty much had the entire place to ourselves and had our pick of tables. Let me just say I am in love with their living wall.
I think this would be a great place to bring omnivores as it has a lot of food they are comfortable with. It is also vegan friendly with many of the entrees having a vegan alternative.
I look forward to going back to try out some of their lunch items like the nachos.

The cafe offered good food & friendly service. I was happy to find vegan options on the menu. Since we were dining with family who eat meat this cafe was a good option. The tofu scramble breakfast tacos are good as well the waffles

This restaurant is awesome except when it isn't. - Edit
I live right in the middle of Beerline Cafe, and Riverwest Co-op Cafe. I usually choose to go to Riverwest Co-Op because the food can't be beat. Beerline has a really cool space and atmosphere, and I love how they have you separate your garbage into recycling and compost! However I find that the food is usually inconsistent. For example I've had the BLATz maybe three or four times and each time the quality differs from the last time. The first time I ordered it, I claimed that it was the best sandwich I had ever had.. but I was extremely disappointed when I ordered it again as for some reason it was subpar. I also don't recommend the crepes. They just aren't the best crepes I've ever had.
Read moreHOWEVER! Their tofu scramble sandwich with vegan cheese has been amazing both times I've ordered it. They also have a really large menu, and I haven't even scraped the surface.
All in all, it is a reasonable vegan / vegetarian restaurant right down the street from my house so I'm pretty thrilled.
Pros: Cheap, Tons of Vegan Options, Cool Atmosphere & Decor
Cons: Inconsistent , Skip The Crepes

unique, and surprisingly big menu - Edit
Vegan crepes, what a treat, for a lacto-vegetarian. And the tofu scramble atop hash browns and asparagus in a Benedict sauce was quite delish. Plus the pricing is really reasonable. Nice laid-back bohemian setting, I will be sure to come whenever I'm in Milwaukee

yesss!!! - Edit
My first time going to Beerline. The atmosphere kind of reminded me of a coffee shop more so then a sit down restaurant, and the prices reflected that (pretty cheap) I have no complaints the servers were nice, and helpful, the menu was clear and there were so many vegan and gluten free options (I'm not gluten free but just putting that out there!) my mom is not vegan so she got a vegetarian menu item but said it was one of the best things she's had at a restaurant this year (something about eggs Benedict for all you vegetarians wanting to try) but my food was great and I really enjoyed being there- defiantly going back.

Old school coffee shop with modern vibe - Edit
When I was growing up, small towns would have a little restaurant called a "coffee shop," which was less like the Starbucks model we have today and more like a diner. It was the sort of place that my bachelor uncles would go into once or twice a day for a meal, a cup of coffee (one kind offered only), and to socialize. On the surface, Beerline Cafe is nothing like that. It's decor is modern, it serves a variety of coffee and tea drinks, it has beer and doesn't have meat, and it's in a city. And yes, it's definitely the kind of place you can go to work on your laptop. But maybe because it's surrounded by a residential neighborhood, I felt an underlying vibe that reminded me of those older style places.
Read moreI ate here twice while I was on a weekend trip to Milwaukee earlier this winter. The food is good, and the atmosphere is really inviting. Street parking was easy, even right after getting several inches of snow.
