Good stuff! [Update: Warning:shared oil] - Edit
Update: we just ate there again And anything, even on the new “vegan” menu, that is cooked in oil, is cooked in oil the chicken is also cooked in. In other words, don’t trust the vegan label: verify.
Read moreOld review: Separate vegan menu with changing items. I LOVED the old tamales, but the butternut squash tacos and Napa salad were excellent. I prefer to eat at pure, vegan restaurants, but this restaurant keeps me coming back. Bonus: decent NA beer for non-drinking friends.

Ask for the Vegan Menu - Edit
Really good tacos, and something you don’t see everywhere. Butternut squash! It’s sweet, smoky and slightly spicy. The rice and beans are really good too.

One of my favorite burgers - Edit
Great spot in Westport for a good vibe and good vegan food. Ask for their vegan menu to make it easy on yourself. The burger has always been one of my favorites, and the fries are delicious as well.

Great food. - Edit
This place is great and has a completely separate vegan menu. I had the Jackfruit tamales and a side of brussel sprouts. Definitely coming back.

Great vegan options - Edit
I appreciate that they had a separate vegan menu! I had the jackfruit tamales, as suggested by the waiter. They don’t look appealing at all (as seen in the photo) and they weren’t wonderful but I see where they were going with it. After I ordered chips and used it as dip, I was happy. Hahah

Was ok - Edit
Had the veggie beet burger. Did not come with the vegan mayo as advertised. So was basically two pieces of dry bread. Burger was nice. It definitely needed something to make it all less dry.

Vegan menu - Edit
Love their vegan menu! They used to have a great sweet potato burger, but I think it was subbed for a beet burger that i didn’t love as much

Great service, ok food - Edit
Our waiter was awesome. He was super knowledgable and very helpful. The location of this bar is right by everything else so you could go bar hopping after. The location is a bit sketchy though and got approached by many homeless on my way around. The sandwich was not very good. Very salty and tasted mostly like olive and not eggplant. The happy hour here is nice. $3 wells and $2 small fries, other stuff too. My bf who eats meat said his food was only ok too. I wish the vegan menu had more options.

Great Restaurant/Bar - Edit
Beer Kitchen surprised me with how good and accommodating they were. The vegetable pot pie and the eggplant sandwich were both delicious. The waiter asked us if we were vegetarians or vegans when we ordered these to ask if cheese was okay for the salad. Great service and good food!

Amazing tamales - Edit
Cool restaurant, and popular and crowded. I ordered the jackfruit tamales. I didn’t think they would be great but I was pleasantly surprised. The whole dish mixes nicely. The beans under the tamales were slightly undercooked but I’m not too picky. 100% have to try if your in KC for a few days.

Good Vegan Tamales - Edit
Really liked the bustling joint in a downtown location. They have a separate vegan menu that lists which foods are vegan and how to make some of the vegetarian dishes vegan. Waitress was super helpful and offered to bring out the vegan menu, but I ordered from the online vegan one. I got the vegan tamale and I thought it was really good. Not a lot of options, but enough to make it worth going back there once or twice again!
