No vegan dishes anymore

We were so excited to go to this place because of previous comments. Unfortunately the owner has changed, and so the menu. There are no vegan dishes anymore.. Only 3 vegetarian dishes. We told him that they should have at least one vegan dish. He replied us that maybe there will do one and that they already wrote to Happy Cow in order to be removed from the app.
So sad... :(

Cons: No vegan options

Might be the best fries I've ever had

The lemongrass satay fries are so good.

The food menu seems to have shrunk a lot compared to previous reviewers and pictures. But they did tell me all the food is vegan.

Pros: Donate to help orangutans, Their drinks are strong

Cons: Margarita was not very good

Great comfort food

I loved their (vegan) mac'n cheese!!!! After a month of traveling I was craving an easy and tasty pasta fix. This tasted as good as the one I make at home. So good. We ordered the hummus (not my favorite), the mac'n cheese (x2) and the chilli fries (also VERY good!). It's nothing fancy but great comfort food and all for a good cause! 👍

Pros: Great music, Good food , The (homemade) vegan cheese

Brilliant idea

First of all I loved that eating here meant that we were funding wildlife conservation. Second of all the Mac and cheese was incredible. Topped with garlicy breadcrumbs in a deliciously cheesy sauce. And all vegan of course!

Pros: Non profit, MAC AND CHEEZE

Cons: Honestly that more people don’t know about it.

Good cause

This is a nonprofit initiative. Don’t expect an extensive menu but the all-vegan simple but tasty bar snacks make for a decent supper. Great Mac n cheese, tasty black bean sauce and super garlicky aioli. Wide range of beers and cocktails available. Cosy outdo or and indoor seating and the staff is super charming. Prices are more than fair and 50% of all profit goes to the orang utan project. So worth supporting!

Pros: Friendly staff, cosy place, Nonprofit , Affordable

Cons: Small menu

No food available?

Trekked across town to specifically try their vegan Mac and cheese only to be told they had no food except for fries available. This was a Friday at about 8pm. Disappointing :( enjoyed the atmosphere and drink though!

Bar food only

This is just a bar in a very nice garden setting. The ownership has changed, so the food is now just typical pub food with a little more. The burger and flatbreads they had before are now not on the menu. Mainly few types of chips. The macaroni cheese (vegan cheese) and tifty tachos are very nice, so is the black bean fritters. Also this place used to be baked Tiger Garden and the signboard outside had not yet been changed to Bear Garden.

Delicious food and a great vibe!

This is my go to stop when I’m in Kuching. The food is delicious and the crowd is always great fun. And profits go to a great sanctuary. Guilt free fun!

Pros: Chilli Cheese Fries!!

Sensational vegan food!

Really great atmosphere complete with fairy lights and chilled music to bob your head to.
The vegan mac 'n' cheese is INSANE and I would recommend you order lots of it! This is not a restaurant but you can order enough sides to fill yourself up for dinner complete with some lovely vegan beer!
Friendly and helpful staff who really take an interest in who you are and will generally go above and beyond to ensure you are having a nice time.

Pros: Delicious vegan food, Chilled atmosphere, Educated staff (they know their food menu very wel

Cons: A little on the expensive side but worth it, No burgers when we visited which is a shame as we

Amazing vegan food and beers supporting a great cause!

Bear Garden is by far my favourite bar and place to eat in Kuching!
EVERYTHING on the food menu is vegan and I can safely say I have tried everything and it's all incredible! On top of this they have a wide selection of beer, ciders, wines and cocktails (a few of these are not vegan though like Baileys) All drinks and food are served byreally friendly staff at unbeatable prices. If this isn't already a vegans dream come true, at least 50% of the profits go to support a sun bear sanctuary hence the name Bear Garden.
This place seems too good to be true but it's not and I highly recommend you check it out. Make sure you visit when you're super hungry and try as many things on the menu as possible!

Pros: Delicious vegan food, Friendly staff, Very affordable prices

Cons: Not always packed with people (which is nice)

Nice Snack Bar

I didn't expect much, because its a bar that offers some snacks. And thats all you get.

I had the spring rolls, the chili cheese fries and the tortilla. I wasn't hungry so it was ok.
The food itself was nicely decorated tasted good and the staff was very friendly.

So definitely go there but dont go there hungry. :)

!!!its not located where the pin is shown on the map. It is at the top of the triangle where the streets join together!!!

Pros: part of the money goes to "projectorangutan", friendly staff & nice place, veganised classics like chili cheese fries

Amazing bar supporting local wildlife

All the food on the menu is vegan and really tasty. Most of the beers are vegan too. 50% of the profits go directly to local conservation and 100% of all merchandise sales too. Great atmosphere with local people and tourists mingling in the bar and the intimate garden outside. I've tried most items on the menu and will definitely be going back for more

everything is vegan!

The entire food menu is vegan, although they don't advertise that fact. At all. I had the chilli cheeze fries and black bean burger, so good to have some totally vegan western food. Burger patty is very good but isn't served with any sauce or relish which would have improved it for me.

Google maps thinks it is somewhere else which meant it took me a long time to find it. Apparently uber drivers also struggle to find it so it's not just me!

Cash only!

Western food, hits the spot

All food served is vegan and if you order two dishes, it should be enough to fill you up.
Food is a little pricy compared to other local places (average rm10-12 per dish) but 50% of the profits go to The Orangutan Project.
Staff are friendly and all speak English very well (half the staff are Westerners and half are locals).
The only place i've found in Kuching to have vegan-specific things like cheesy sauce!

Pros: Everything is vegan, Kitchen is open late, Good if you need a western vegan food fix

Cons: More expensive than other local places
