Not actually vegan - Edit
Sadly just found out chicken broth is used in the sauce for the general tso tofu. It is difficult to find out which, if any, items are actually vegan here.

Cons: Not clear which items are vegan or not

I’m not sure who you talked to, but i spoke with the owner today and he confirmed for me, three times, there is NO CHICKEN BROTH in the general tsos sauce.

That would be great news, there definitely seems to be communication issues amongst the staff though since through the months I asked 3 different times and got 3 different answers. The first two were really vague and unsure, then the third went and asked other staff and told me the broth thing. It has been very difficult to navigate.

Worst food experience in a while - Edit
Ordering was easy enough but the food was such a disappointment. The sesame tofu was rock hard and congealed together so much that I had to pry pieces away from the large chunk. Between being dry and chewy (think overworked dough that's been overcooked) my sesame tofu was hardly edible. The broccoli seemed like they were thrown in as an after thought and tasted mostly like water with the barest amount of sauce from the dish where they touched the massive tofu chunk.
Read moreMy partner got the broccoli with garlic sauce which really should have been called soup since 90% of the container was just sauce. The flavor was super bland except the end was wildly spicy. Other dishes we ordered had a spicy label and none of them were as spicy as this.
We also got the general tso tofu which suffered from the same issue as the sesame tofu and the spring rolls which were tolerable at best but far more greasy than I've had before and without much flavor.
I genuinely have to assume this was an off night based on all the positive reviews but I legitimately haven't had this bad of a meal in years.
Cons: Hard, dry, chewy tofu, No flavor , And yet still insanely spicy?

fav chinese in raleigh - Edit
i love this place! the general tso’s chinese is incredible. the veggies are always fresh and they aren’t super heavy-handed on the peppers and onions to save money like a lot of other places. the people who own/work there are super cute and friendly and always give huge portions for the price.

Great tofu! - Edit
Absolutely love Beansprout! It’s been a go-to restaurant. The tofu is always cooked very nicely (not squishy) and has good flavor. Sesame tofu and general tso tofu are both great
