The staff and options make this place! - Edit
I first came here almost two years ago when I was introduced to it by an ex. The staff were lovely. The cakes were sooo good (I had the peanut butter and jam cookie) and the mains were really filing. When I came back again and then a third time, the lady who worked there remembered what I liked to eat and where I liked to sit and on return from the bathroom she had put water on the table I liked to sit at asked if I wanted the same cookie (lovely touch) would definitely come back again :)

Great options for vegans - Edit
Beanos is perfect if you fancy something specific from their menu, the service is great and their food is delicious but can get very “samey “. Great vegan options, it’s nice to visit on a chilly day and have a good coffee and a slice of cake!

Pretty Good Food - Edit
My boyfriend and I have been going to Beanos for about two years now and it's an ok place to go if you are craving something specific from their menu. Meaning that their menu has been the same for a long time, but that's also something you can trust.
Read moreThe daal and thai curry and mushroom soup are the best.
The homemade cakes are great too.
The rest of the vegan part of the menu is hit and miss. The breakfast is basic and you can make it better at your home, the burgers and toasties are fine, but after having them once, would not order them again as they are too expensive for not enough taste or size.
It's sad that a vegetarian and vegan place charges more for plant milk in their tea and coffee.
Pros: Homemade Food, Great Cakes, Nice Staff
Cons: Stale Menu, Small Portions, Charge Extra for Plant Milk

Good vegan choices but charge extra for soya milk - Edit
Tasty vegan choices, though somewhat on the junky side so one star knocked off for not having healthier options. And I have to knock off another star for charging 20p extra for soya or almond milk. Not something I would expect to see nowadays, especially in a veggie restaurant and considering soya costs around the same as cow's milk. Nice to have all three cake options vegan though - chose the custard cupcake, which was decent though very sweet and with solid custard at the bottom.

Popped in today for a quick takeaway on route home from France.
Read moreWe opted for a setian wrap, which was a great and a spicy borlotti bean pate with humous and red onion.
We also bought some lovely cakes which I haven't got the room for yet, but did take a sneaky bite out of the peanut butter cookie which was devine.
Dog friendly too if you sit outside!
Great find, not too expensive.
Pros: Good choice, Tasty and filling

Vegan Christmas lunch - Edit
Booked for the special Christmas lunch menu. Absolutely delicious and we even had crackers so very festive.
Read moreThere was a choice of three different starters, three mains and three puddings. For the main I opted for the strudel which came with all of the traditional trimmings including a very good cranberry sauce. My starter and pudding were good too. Generous portions and reasonably priced.

Loved it! - Edit
We visited on a Saturday just past lunchtime and were so surprised by the amount of options there were for us to choose from. I'm a vegan and my mum is a gluten free vegetarian (certainly not the easiest to cater for) and there was plenty to choose from. The menu clearly specified which items could be made vegan, gluten free or mustard free, which made the menu so easy to read. I had a smoked tofu, mushroom, wild rocket and BBQ sauce grilled sandwich which was delicious. My mother had the gluten free falafel and hummus pitta (unfortunately it didn't come in a pitta so it became more of a salad, but she enjoyed it all the same). We enquired about their pizza options in the evening and they do sell dairy pizzas as well as vegan, though they aren't able to offer a gluten free pizza yet because of cross contamination issues (they do offer a gluten free alternative).
Read moreIt is a shame they don't offer gluten free bread or wraps yet as that would make the menu choices so much larger. My mum was also disappointed that they had run out of gluten free cakes but we were quite late in the day so it's our fault really.
Overally we absolutely loved this place, the staff were so helpful and friendly and they atmosphere was very relaxing. We will definitely be coming back soon 😀
Pros: Easy to read menu, Helpful and knowledgeable staff, Lovely interior
Cons: Not many gluten free options, Waiting times

Excellent all round.... - Edit
This was the first establishment i visited in folkestone and became a favourite. My first visit I went for the special of the day which was a chickpea stew. It was served with foccacia bread which they make themselves too. It was slightly spicy, warming and a great sized portion for the price. The place was busy and most of the tables were in continuos use whilst I was there. Even though this might make you feel like rushing off to free the space up I felt able to relax after my meal and digest a bit. Service was quick, efficient, friendly and i wasn't pushed to pay before I was ready. The menu is varied with a good selection of vegan and vegetarian meals and lighter snacks all well marked. On other visits I have tried the soup of the day and a side salad, the toasted sandwich with bean pate, rocket, and sun dried tomatoes. All was flavourful, filling and quick to arrive. Each time i visit I love the atmosphere. As the only establishment of it's kind in the town it attracts a supportive slightly older clientele who seem really happy to be there. They also do great vegan cakes. Once I had a sugar free date slice and a almond milk latte which was steamed to perfection. They are open every day apart from sundays (which is a shame as that's generally a day i want to be eating out). They also do monthly pizza night's which I have managed to miss during my stay unfortunately. This place is great value, with great staff, atmosphere and tasty vegan food. Not to be missed if your a vegan visitor to Folkestone!...... featured in my article 'being vegan in kent' please check it out and other local reviews.....http://whitedragonorganics.com/being-vegan-in-kent

A must for Kent veggies - Edit
I'm lucky enough to live round the corner so it is a regular lunch spot for me. It's entirely vegetarian with lots of vegan options too. My favourite is the lentil and quinoa burger with onion marmalade. Yummy!
Read moreThey are currently open only during the day (not Sundays) but will open for their special pizza or curry nights, as well as special occasions such as Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.
If you're visiting do check their Facebook page as they sometimes close for a break during bank holidays etc.
Food is very reasonable, expect to pay about £5 - £8 depending on what food you order.
They have a lovely patio at the back which is really nice in the summer.
Pros: Very affordable , Great vegan cakes
Cons: Not open Sunday , Not open most evenings

nice little place - Edit
This is a little gem tucked away off the main throng in Folkestone. They have vegetarian with many vegan options. I have eaten here twice now. The first time I had the vegan breakfast and the second I got a take away roasted veg and hummus toastie. All very nice and inexpensive. They have cakes and mains too but I haven't tried them yet! Great to see a place offering vegan options, especially in a small target market.

Great local cafe - Edit
Having recently turned vegan I was surprised to find Beano's on my door step. Beano's is a cute little Cafe in a recently developed arty part of town. The menu is small but has a perfect selection of veggie and vegan meals. On my recent visit the lady who took my order, who I assumed was the owner, easily offered a vegan version of a veggie burger, and it was delicious. The service is always good and food is a good value for money. I'd like to see vegan mayo in the coleslaw and vegan options marked on the chalk board and please open in the evenings!!!
