Yorkshire Puds - Edit
They have Yorkshire puddings in the freezer section.
Read moreMy partner likes them and to be fair, they are probably the nicest ones we have had since becoming vegan.
The Yorkshire puds has a nice height to them so you can actually fill the inside with gravy, the top is crispy when cooked and the base is a bit doughy (definitely cooked though).
They have croissants every time we went in, however, they are out in the open and not protected by anything so I never bought any even though I would love to.
They have fresh uncut breads and baguettes too.
I like this store, bought a few things from here for colleagues too and they are happy with their edible goodies.

Beanies - Edit
Co-operative store offering a good range of vegan chilled and shelf products, organic fruit & veg and household products. They had a varied selection of artisan vegan cheeses, not sure if this is the regular offering or whether this was for the Christmas lead up. I was pleased to find the Kinda Co. cheese which are my favourite, but they had I’m Nut OK, Mouses Favourite and Tyne Cheese available too. Vegetarian store so you do need to check if products are vegan. Small customer car park next to the store. Friendly service.

Super sweet - Edit
Since moving to Sheffield, I hadn’t managed to find an organic community co-op store like the one from my home town until a friend of mine who lives nearby recommended Beanies! 🫘Such a nice environment with plentyyyyy of options (even more than the store I’m used to going to back home) and lovely staff. Also some pretty good offers too. I went there to get saffron💛 and dairy-free yoghurt🍦 - definitely check it out for the best vegan ingredients…or even just ingredients you would typically find difficult to locate in normal supermarkets.🌱

A wholesome lil' shop that sells the best fresh fruit and veg in all of Sheffield. They also push for sustainability and environmentally friendly alternatives - noone of this green washing nonsense

Great local shop but not the best in terms of zero waste and vegan - Edit
They do some fresh produce that is plastic free but not all of it, freshly baked goods but not covered and next to others which are not vegan so will not e suitable if intolerant or allergic to dairy and they still have a lot of dairy products in the fridge sadly they haven’t made the connection yet....
Read morePros: Lots of small businesses , Some Loose produce
Cons: Dairy products , A lot of goods in plastic , Goods flown in from across the world high co2

Best small whole foods shop - Edit
When I first stepped into beanies, I instantly felt at home and the staff were so friendly and amazing!! Since my first time I now visit beanies every time I my girlfriend in Sheffield, the choice of fresh fruit and veg is phenomenal, and the amount of vegan goodies such as chocolate and sweets is mouth watering!! Most things are organic which is always great! They also have a small bakery with nice fresh bread and sausage rolls which are vegan! Overall such a lovely shop🙏🏼

Beanies was an amazing discovery for me as a vegan living in a city for the first time. Nutritional yeast, vegan cheeses, faux meats, icecream, flavoured tofu, everything you could wish for :)

Tempeh, Tofu, Nutritional Yeast! - Edit
All the super-sexy (and hard to find) vegan fayre is always in plenty of stock here. Nutritional Yeast, frozen tempeh stakes, vegan chai milk, vegan yoghurts... Its pretty expensive, but good for treats every once in a while. If I had the money, I'd be there every day.
Read moreReally friendly staff too.

An oasis for the travelling vegan - Edit
I went to Beanies on my first day in Sheffield, knowing that I'd need to be doing a lot of my own cooking during my month visit. Everything I wanted was there, and more, so that I could fill my cupboards and live in vegan style. The staff were very helpful. Some things a bit pricey, but you get that.

Where is the bleeding sign?... - Edit
Some strong memories came back to me when I saw Beanies listing. We used to be the lowest priced! 8 till late 365 days a year! Started as a project of the 80's youthful energy & optimism! I respect the current team for keeping it going - "may they have fun & prosper". Bean Beanies (the name is a play on David Bowies Gene Genie) opened just after the 1985 Stonehenge - in the dark days of Maggie & her focused abuse of the miners / the homeless / the gay & colorful / the "off-whites" / the mentally & physically challenged / anyone else whom she & her crew could bully. The Crookes / Walkley "druggies" shoplifted Beanies heavily in the 80's - perhaps they still do? - this may explain the high prices! Be happy! - John
