The seitan rueben was very good even if it was a little heavy on the sauerkraut. As for the nutritional yeast mac and cheese… I can’t tell if it’s the brand they use or if they are using sweetened plant milk but it’s more sweet than savory. It has a good texture but needs a different flavor profile.

My mom got the reuben and i got the quesadilla and we shared the Crabbie Patty Platter, fried pickles, onion rings, and collard greens, we were literally drooling haha! 11/10 would definitely eat there again!

I got the jalapeño cheddar burger which was magnificent. The nooch mac was quite bland, but their vanilla shake was very good in my opinion. Really liked the setting as well.

Not impressed. The settings are nice although the tables weren't clean and the AC didn't work. We had jackfruit dip with chips and the 3 jackfruit tacos with a green salad and chili cheese fries.

The jackfruit dip was tasteless and the chips it's served with were like the cheapest kind, you could taste the sugar.
The chili cheese fries, well the fries were ok, the chili not really worthy.
The tacos didn't look so good nor did they taste good. The corn tortilla is so bad it tasted like cardboard and had the same consistency. I ate a half of one, the person that was with me also ate half of one, when waitress picked up the dishes we told her it was nearly edible, she said oh ok and didn't offer to give us something else or take anything off the check.
This is the 3rd vegan restaurant I try in this area. 1 up in Asheville was amazing, the 2 others, sorry kinda mediocre.

I was in town for work and ordered Doordash since I didn’t have a car, so I can only imagine it would be even better in person. The tofu fingers were amazing. In this current world of so many restaurants just serving reheated Gardein (which I will order plenty of - no shade intended), I really appreciated a well thought out tofu dish. Same with the house made seitan in the Reuben. I’ve tried many mac and chz and cheesecakes over the years and these were both well above average. The mac was definitely not going to fool an omni, but I may have licked the bowl😄

First of all get the soft serve!!!! It was the best thing I had all weekend visiting Charlotte. The seitan chz steak was good and I would order it again. Fried pickles had great texture but they could use a bit more flavor, I added hot sauce to the dipping sauce and that helped out! The Mac & chz is unique, not your typical tasting Mac & chz but it was still good!

We ordered Bean's Vegan Cuisine online & it was ready quite fast which was great. The meal was very enjoyable. Here is what we got & what we thought; Fried Pickles 5/5 ... Fried Tofu Fingers (in teriyaki & bbq) 3.5/5 (a bit tough to chew) ... Quesadilla 5/5 ... Famous Chili 4/5 ... Jalapeño Cheddar Burger 5/5 (amaziiiiiiing!!) ... BBQ Jackfruit Sandwich 4/5 (a tad too sweet) ... Chili Mac 1/5 (none of us liked it. Super sweet which was weird because neither the cup of chili nor the regular mac was sweet) ... Mac 5/5 (actually tastes identical to our own recipe) ... Onion Rings 5/5 (really good & I was upset we didn't order more of them) ... Fries 4/5 ... We will def order from Bean's Vegan Cuisine again on future Charlotte trips!

I had such a hard time choosing, which is nice for a change as this place offers a lot more choices than most other vegan restaurants. It’s got a casual, diner-like atmosphere with comfort foods, burgers, salads, bowls, dessert, and apps. My favorite item I ordered was the raspberry zinger cake. It’s been a week since I ate there and I’ve thought about that cake everyday since. I think they make their own burger patties, which I liked on my cowboy burger (good onion rings on it, too). Even my omnivore husband liked his burger! Since I had a hard time choosing I also ordered a bowl with grilled portobello and I liked that better than the burger! It was filling and reheats well. It was enough to make two meals for me. We also got the buffalo cauliflower and although the buffalo was a good flavor, it was very greasy. Overall, this was a great place and there’s more we want to go back to try. They had daily specials and after eating the zinger cake I was disappointed that I didn’t also pick up the blueberry cheesecake that they had on special. We live 3 hours away, so that’s why we ordered as much as we could…. And because I’m a piggy that doesn’t like making decisions. They also had shelves up like a little market that was convenient. Their online ordering was also convenient as you could set the time for pickup.

Homey food. Homey atmosphere. I went to Bean a couple years back with my dad, and I remembered loving it. I took my best friend to dinner here a week ago just to see how she liked it. When I tell you she was FAWNING over the food!! And I’m the vegetarian, not her! She got the Korean bbq tofu burger, and I got the jackfruit bbq carnitas tacos. It was just as good as I remembered. This place is really special, because it’s so hard to come by fully vegan comfort food. I LOVE bbq, and this is only place I can find any good jackfruit bbq in the Charlotte area. To be fair, a better location would serve the place well. I could see it doing very well off in a more frequented/growing area of town like South End or NoDa. It would be very sad to see this gem go. Much better than Luna’s Living Kitchen in my opinion (sorry Luna’s), unless you’re looking for super healthy vegan food, you’ll find that at Luna’s. IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR VEGAN COMFORT FOOD IN THE CHARLOTTE AREA, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!!!

I loved that Bean served only vegan dishes; it made it soo easy to order! The pimento cheese and mac and cheese weren't the best, but don't let that discourage you. The Good Burger and the fried pickles with vegan ranch was definitely my favorite!

Bean in Asheville was a nice sunny place. This place still has the adorable pig statue but that is about all that reminds me of the Asheville location I loved. I wanted to go to the store and bring back baking soda and vinegar to scrub the tiles around the bar. I have had amazing vegan food in low rent locations. Bean was good in Asheville. The tater tot casserole was ok. The nash potatoes and herb gravy were ok. The noch mac and cheese was a no. I knew it was noch mac and cheese. But it has went down hill. The cheesecake was still good. The service was friendly. We got iced up diet Pepsi and no refill. The fries are not edible. It breaks my heart and I wanted to take the adorable pig statue from this place.

Read moreThey serve vegan junk food. It's fried, greasy, not good for you, and delicious. I stumbled in there about two months into my vegan journey, dying for something fried. It was a lifesaver. Let me tell you. I have a particular affinity for the bean bowl, fried tofu finger sandwich, and waffles. Oooh, the waffles.
I have a crazy sweet tooth and wanted their desserts to be awesome. Instead, I'd say they are hit and miss. Their cheesecakes are almost always delicious. Their chocolate cake is also very good. However, I think the rest of their cakes taste like flavorless paste. Don't do it!
The thing I dislike the most is the inconsistent service. And, even more than that, after suggesting it to a group of friends, having to apologize to my guests for it. It's always when I bring people with me that the service is extra slow and the servers are pretty inattentive and, at times, down right unfriendly. I tip well. I'm not needy or complicated, and even if I were, this would be unacceptable. It is an ongoing issue. It happens regularly and that's crappy. Please fix it!
I worked in the service industry for a long time. I know how hard the work can be. But the thing is, veganism is becoming more and more popular. There are more options now than two years ago and there will be even more options in another two years. If issues aren't addressed, people will choose to go elsewhere and that's unfortunate.

Usually I get takeout from here and it’s always quick and the staff is friendly. The food is DELICIOUS and even stays warm for the ~15 minute ride home. The small grocery area where I can purchase vegan items for home is a godsend for when I’ve run out of some of my pantry vegan staples at home.
